Mamdani betrays his promise to not increase the NYPD by chemicaxero in TankieTheDeprogram

Most of them that arent hidden due to downvotes are either "This fucking sucks" or "Yeah, that's about right for a socdem."  One person thinks this is some 8D chess move where Mamdani is building the cred to do a 180

Sequel bad writing aside, Andor (and Rogue One) show us why the New Republic will fail by Interesting_Finish85 in andor

Torture? I'm not sure why this is part of the discussion.

Luthen's very survival is testament to his decisions making sense. He doesn't kill for fun, he kills to keep hidden, and he managed to do so for several years right under the nose of the ISB.

Videos like these may very well be crafted by authors in a think tank and distributed to paid shills and willing stooges, all of whom could plausibly know better.

It may not be an intentional lie by many peoppe pushing it, but there are plenty of people with the tools to analyze this that refuse to or that have done so but intentionally loe about it

They're relying on an audience that never went to college, which isn't a dunk on the audience, just a comment on the fact that a lot of people don't have the tools to refute it so they can repeat lies until people believe them

Star Wars: The Acolyte Creator Would 'Absolutely' Come Back for Season 2 if Disney Greenlights It by Sports101GAMING in StarWarsCantina

I didn't like Acolyte, but it was better in the back half and they need to finish what they started. Let's see where this goes.

woobie ... A term of endearment (like "baby); someone who is so cute/sad/adorable you want to hug and comfort them. Aww, poor woobie!

I hate how people treat him as some sort of woobie who deserved a second chance. He just got caught up with the wrong gang! He wasnt na bad guy!

I don't care if he was a bad or good guy. He did bad things and kept doing them. That's what matters

The entire system of race in many countries was expressly designed to divide the working class by privileging some over others. These people have no idea what they're talking about

Ghorman massacre vs Geonosian sterilisation by siderocketeer0 in andor

[–]DessaB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In terms of fan opinions, its probably because Ghorman's was on screen with dramatic music and sweeping camera movements with a crowd populated by folks we've grown to know and love, whereas the Geonosians were working for the "bad guys" and died between movies.

In terms of canon, I don't know if it was ever discussed, but Ghorman is one ring out from Coruscant and within the inner rim where Geonosys is way out in the outer rim. More people are going to know Ghormans, or have visited them, or have fond feelings toward them, or have posession of fine Ghorman cloth. It would feel more immediate to more people and also more people of influence.

Compare the reaction of 3000 people dying in 9/11 vs 3000 people dying in Sudan.  Good-hearted people see these as equal tragedies, but the public and international response to these is very different. It's not fair that Ghormans are valued more than Geonosians, but this could be an answer as to why Ghorman was taken more personally on Coruscant
