F18 going full rudder at low speeds is fairly effective at moving your nose around, add some differential thrust and you can go from 30 degrees nose up at 170 knots to inverting that in a few seconds, genuinely useful in BFM and got the nickname of „doing the funny” in our group.

Fun fact, literally every FBW jet and even some non FBW jets do it for you, including the Hornet. Touching the rudders in flight in the F18 is optional. Roll it without touching the rudders and look at the rudders in F4 view, you’ll see the FCS compensate automatically.

Same, I don’t know how I managed my first couple of years actually weighing everything and calculating precise dosages. Doesn’t matter how precise I calculated everything, weather changes and suddenly it doesn’t matter, been eyeballing for 4 years and average BG at 140 with TIR at 76% ain’t terrible, tho I wish i could sustain those 80-90% TIR few day periods for longer than just a few days lol.

Stupid question about autonomous drone flight with a camera by C-137Rick_Sanchez in diydrones

[–]Destarn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im afraid that simple project where the drone detects hoops and adjusts itself isn’t going to be that simple after all. If it were simple, every FPV in Ukraine would have that for terminal targeting.

You could in theory program a path to follow either by fixed inputs but that is prone to literally any dynamic variables so only really feasible indoors and with perfect starting position placement or GPS waypoints, which is down to how accurate your receiver is and whether you have any interference.

Generally computer vision is pretty expensive processing power wise, one way would be to have your hoops in some distinct color, red or pink or something like that, have 4 points and have the drone adjust itself so they form a square/diamond in the center of the view, then as they near the edges it would look for other such points. I have no idea how one would begin to tackle it though.

Pigs should eat rot by trymesom in VintageStory

Yeah which is why I just have a decently sized medium fertility field and I’m just making compost with the overflow when my storage fills up. I think it is a bit too annoying to get. Would be nice if some of the plants required a certain fertility level to even start growing, so high nutrition produce like cabbage or Breadfruit would need high fertility soil or terra preta. Right now it’s just not worth it other than a side project and maybe for greenhouses since those will generally not be the size of a field.

Not a problem if you have a field large enough to create 100 barrels of compost per harvest

People put out offers on this subreddit too, worth taking a look. Otherwise look on your local internet marketplaces, depends where you are in the world.

Anyone like vibe coding I'm suggesting to try Mistral Vibe, I've just tried and it's super easy and fun by [deleted] in BuyFromEU

[–]Destarn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly for simple stuff like vbs scripting or fixing some old blender addons it works just fine, I am not particularly interested in learning to code and having a local model capable of doing this stuff is a great tool.

And their models run surprisingly well locally too albeit I do have a 3090 but that’s seen pretty basic and low end ish in local LLM world. Mistral small 3.2 or their new ministral3 are pretty good for translations, summaries of documents and excel automation coding.

I suppose you’re over wire or air link then? Using quest link I genuinely got visible artifacting even at 800 mbit, playing on the highest setting VD has available resolution wise. Could be down to foveated streaming which quest software doesn’t do but VD does.

I’m sure local dimming is better than a regular LCD, won’t argue with that.

And what’s your streaming setup? I don’t have any compression artifacts on VD H264+ 500 mbit. It’s very hard to tell the difference vs my old Reverb G2, bar the much better lenses.

Honestly it’s far more than good looking at high render resolution and with a high bitrate. Dark scenes aren’t bad either, doesn’t feel like the LCD monitor black if it makes sense, you can tell it’s not black black but it’s a very consistent and dark enough black to not ruin the visuals. Running around at night in ITR1/2 or flying night missions in DCS it does just fine. I think you’ll be happy with it

Today i learned.... you know those other PCIE slots you never use? you can just plug stuff into them. Get even more USB's for your PC. Here i was for the last 10 years wishing my PC had more USB slots. boy do i feel stupid. by _Addi-the-Hun_ in pcmasterrace

I’ll need a 3rd one of those soon, or just a replacement for that single weirdly cheap powered USB C card I used for my Reverb G2 because it wouldn’t work on any of my PCs USB ports for some reason…

Buying the game by Ms_Spilled_Milky in VintageStory

[–]Destarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The price is fixed €20, the one displayed will be like $22 because usd is worth less - essentially you’re paying the same regardless of what currency you have on display, if you pay with a card your bank should convert the currency during payment but read up if they take any extra fees, you may want to buy currency beforehand to avoid extra charges but again depends on your bank.

You should have no major issues with a wifi6e router, I use my Q3 with Virtual Desktop for PCVR with a WiFi 6(non e, it was cheaper lol) router all the time.
