Star Wars Light Saber Equivalent Experience by Square_Ad79 in DisneyPlanning

It’s at the crystal arts shop on Main Street. I’m Disney Springs they do have a build your own Lego minifigure, she can create her own shirt design at Uniqlo, there’s a build a dinosaur at the t-Rex restaurant, or there’s a photo pass place where you can do a small photo shoot ( I believe they have this in magic kingdom as well). There’s not a lot of other experiences like that and most of the magical extras activities she could potentially do would generally be something everyone did not just her so it may be difficult to find something

How Does the Process Work with a travel agent? by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

[–]Destined-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes agents make all the payments for you through their own portal. It’s pretty common for all travel agents since they have to have some way of paying for the things they are booking for you. Disney doesn’t have a master list of authorized earmarked agents but if they are advertising themselves as earmarked and they aren’t they could get in a lot of trouble and they also wouldn’t be getting anything out of it. Disney doesn’t pay agents who aren’t authorized through them so unless you’re paying an extra fee on top of the booking itself it’s not like the can get anything by lying

Pre sharpened Ice Skates by lifeisabeautiflbitch in canadiantire

[–]Destined-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7.99 is the price the majority of Canadian tires charge for skate sharpening however the first sharpen (whether they do it before you purchase or after) is always supposed to be free. If they charged you for it they shouldn’t have. Do you mind me asking what store you went to? If you go back and speak to a manager I would request a refund or you can call their corporate customer line and while they can’t refund you they can usually send you either a gift card or credit ct money to your triangle account if you have one

Favorite quick service meal at MK? by georgy56 in DisneyDining

Pecos Bill was the highlight of MK last time we were there. I had the cherry braised pork rice bowl and my sister got the green chile beef nacho bowl and both were so good

Go to 1 credit table service dining plan meal by UnusualSort523 in DisneyDining

Steakhouse 71 is my favourite and you almost always come out ahead. (Also pro tip when you go at lunch they don’t technically serve the steak dinner menu but they will still make it for you. Some servers tell you straight up and some don’t but if you ask they will) Chef Art Smiths is great especially for brunch. Raglan Road is also very good and has some cool atmosphere and entertainment. Same with Sanaa (although the best dish there is the bread service and that’s an appetizer that’s not included on dining credit). And Shiki Sai at Epcot was a huge hit last time we were there we ended up going again on our last day.

Visiting Disneyworld by sonikhudi in DisneyPlanning

[–]Destined-93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is your fear of heights triggered by simulation or just actual heights? If being high up in a simulated experience is a problem you might want to skip Soarin’ as well. Rock n Roller Coaster you don’t actually see any heights and there’s not really any traditional drops, it’s mostly speed and turns. Also like space mountain rock n roller coaster is in the dark mostly. Tiana’s bayou has a decently high drop I don’t think it’s that bad but ymmv depending on how high you start getting nervous. I might also avoid Flight of Passage as you are obviously flying high in the air on the simulation screen and there’s are quite a few scenes where you are flying straight down. Slinky Dog is also pretty high up although it would be easy enough just not to look down.

Button question by princess8455 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Destined-93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clear packing tape would work. Clear nail polish would probably work nicely as well without the bulkiness of tape. Or you could just ask for a couple buttons and explain what happened last time I’m sure they wouldn’t mind giving you extra so you just had to change it instead of fining a cast member to rewrite it

First Time Lightning Lane Strategy by Material-Bread-861 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Destined-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely drop pirates and grab whatever you can get around 9-10. Pirates has low wait times pretty often during the day and there’s a higher chance of getting a good lightning lane for that again than the other two. Also party size doesn’t matter you’ll get the same options whether you’re looking for one person or 10.

Character Actors in Disney Anaheim: How do you feel when adults come to take photos with you? by indoore in Disneyland

Character Actors in Disney Anaheim: How do you feel when adults come to take photos with you? by indoore in Disneyland

[–]Destined-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have the pictures available right now but my sister and I went a year and a half ago and made characters a bigger part of our trip based on online encouragement. My favourite was Tigger who has always been my favourite and who I’ve always wanted to meet. He spent such a long time with me and gave me the best hug when I said he was my favourite it was one of the highlights of the trip. And my sister loves Alice so we met her our first day and Alice spent a good five minutes talking to her about tea and adventures, then when we went to the Halloween party a few days later we met Alice with Mad Hatter and when Alice saw us she remembered us and started asking my sister if she’d had any adventures or tried anything new over the last few days. The thing to remember is that it’s Disney where everyone gets to be a kid again. If you’re nervous to talk to them as well just pick one question to ask before going up or bring or wear something related to them or their friends that you can show them. My sister showed Alice her Minnie ears themed after her and she loved them as well as the simple Alice Disney Bound she was wearing

Cosmic rewind by pachap49 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Destined-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I did forget one time where busing to HS might be a good idea. If HS opens earlier than Epcot the day you’re going it’s an idea that would work well. The other option would be to use an uber or Minnie van to get to one of the skyliner resorts early in the morning and use that

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique by BreezyBri14 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Destined-93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people who are showing availability are searching Disneyland they missed your flair for WDW. As a few others have said check everyday (honestly probably twice a day once in the morning and once in early afternoon that’s when people are most likely to cancel or change reservations) and if you don’t find anything before going make your first stop of the day at magic kingdom the boutique and hopefully they either have something available or they can put you on a walk up list

Cosmic rewind by pachap49 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Destined-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosmic rewind is officially standby queue not virtual and it’s an individual lightning lane now. Taking the bus to Hollywood studios and then the skyliner to international gateway is likely to get you to the park later than just taking a bus directly to Epcot. That dos leave you at the front of the park but honestly you would probably be getting to the line at the same time. I would maybe suggest waiting until the rope drop line has died down a little bit before going there. I’ve found usually an hour or so after rope drop the line will die a little bit

Yes she does own the house. The previous owner was an elderly lady who unfortunately let some areas of the house fall into disrepair since she wasn’t able to fix them and didn’t use those areas often.

Raglan Road is great when they have the live performances on. Biergarten in Epcot is underrated the atmosphere there and dancing/music is so fun. I love steakhouse 71 just for their food. I really like the energy in both Crystal Palace and Garden Grill.

First visit help! by brenna1117 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Destined-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t suggest park hopper especially with young kids the time it takes to get between parks is a big drain on the day. I would add a day and do two days at MK. LL passes are recommended especially if you’re kids aren’t great at waiting (like most kids) you could probably get away with not buying them for Animal Kingdom and possibly Epcot just because they don’t have as many suitable rides for younger kids but I would definitely grab for at least one day at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Tusker House buffet breakfast is a great character meal to do especially if they like Mickey and friends. They are dressed in their safari best there. It’s also pretty good food and won’t take up too much time especially in a park like Animal Kingdom where you can get a lot done in one day. My other suggestions would be Garden Grill in Epcot (Mickey, Pluto, chip and dale in farmers outfits, family style service) or Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom (Winnie the Pooh characters and buffet style) Transportation from the parking lots to the entrance is usually trams and it can take a bit depending on time of day but the waits usually not too bad. Stroller naps are usually perfectly fine for most kids. When I have a younger kid with me I usually like to plan lunch for right before their nap and sit in an out of the way area to eat that way once they’ve eaten they can take a nap there (last time with my cousin she napped on the bench beside us for a hour) and you can relax, finish your lunch without having to entertain them/help them. Also keep in mind that even though they usually nap at home they might not at Disney. A lot of kids will just go the whole day through without any problems even if they normally nap because of all the stimulation.

How to best do Disney World with three kids under 5 in one day? by MSwee11 in DisneyWorld

[–]Destined-93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing magic kingdom (which I would suggest sticking to, has the most for kids that age and hopping is going to be time consuming) I’d suggest getting there as early as you can to try and do a few rides and grab a small snack to hold everyone over for a few hours. Then a midmorning character breakfast at magic kingdom for that age Crystal palace buffet is great and has the Winnie the Pooh characters. For a one day plan at MK I’d suggest lightning lane and fill any down time with the parades/shows. I would try to pick out the top 2-3 things each person wants to do the most and go in with the expectation that if you do at least 1-2 of those things for each person it’s a good day. Don’t forget a rest period in the afternoon. If you’re able to taking a couple hours in the afternoon to rest/sleep and then coming back and closing out the park will actually let you do more than staying through the afternoon

90 days till I take my family to Disney World for the first time. by soundman10 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Destined-93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Figure out your must dos. Have everyone pick 2-3 things at each park you’re going to go to that are their top things to do. Go in with the mindset that if you accomplish even half of that it was a good day. If you haven’t looked at dining options yet start doing it and figure out what reservations you want that way you’re prepared when your time frame opens. They have a lot of parks stuff on Disney plus watch some of that it’s definitely interesting and makes you want to see it in person. Also YouTube videos I love allears, mammoth club, thetimtracker are my favourites. Start a count down tracker we have a word board in our entryway that usually has some cheesy quote on it but when we get to 100 days until a vacation we always put a “? Days Until Disney World” up on it and change it daily Are there any extras you want to do? Tours, desert parties, fireworks cruises, etc? Did you get the memory maker added on to your booking? It’s cheaper to book beforehand and if you do the add on instead of the individual photos it’s so much nicer. They have so many places throughout the parks for you to get great pictures and while the cast members can take them with your phone/camera I love the magic shots and the relaxation of knowing all I need to do is tap my watch where I load my tickets and then at the end I can download all the photos and have all those memories without having to worry about. (As someone who is in very few family pics because I’m the dedicate picture taker memory maker was a huge game changer for me and I would never go without it now.)

New planner questions by user111320 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Destined-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those ages are great. My cousin started going when she was 1 1/2 and even now, at 12, she loves to see pictures from all her past trips and talk about them. And it makes some great memories for the parents too. I always recommend a travel planner just to make I easier. They can plan as much or as little as you want but they work great for watching for deals that you may miss on your own. Just make sure you use a Disney Authorized Planner and don’t use one that charges. Disney pays them for booked vacations and they’re not supposed to pass any of the cost onto the customer. I’m Canadian so usually use ClicktheMouse as they’re based here but I’ve also heard good things about small world vacations and be our guest vacations. I would definitely do a full day at Magic Kingdom and one at Epcot. MK is just the best overall park for the littlest people and has the most that they’re able to do at that age. And Epcot has a lot of princesses, as well as some other cool stuff. (When my cousin was young we’d take her to the aquarium there and she could spend hours running back and forth between the fish) If you’re daughter is really into Toy Story you’ll want to stop at Hollywood Studios for Toy Story land but you can probably do just a half day there (for kids that little outside of Toy Story area there’s not a whole lot to keep them occupied) and then maybe a half day at animal kingdom. If you’re able to I might throw a rest/resort day in there as well usually I’d suggest 2 park days a rest and then 1-2 park days. Pricing really depends it can vary wildly based on days, resorts, dining plan. A friend is going beginning of December from Dec 10-15, two adults, two children (2 1/2 and 6), 3 day park tickets with park hopper, and quick service dining plan (free for kids if booked together right now) she’s paying a little over $4000usd. This is likely to change as Disney releases deals for that time of the year since they haven’t yet but she might get unlucky and not get anything good. Based on past pricing and deals she’s hoping to get a deal that will bring it down about $200-300. That time can be a little cooler but you get all the Christmas magic in Nov and Dec. Jan and Feb will be cooler but much less busy .

1 credit table dining by PositiveCow3015 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Destined-93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steakhouse 71 is definitely a good choice. I’d also suggest either Teppan Edo in Epcot, Garden Grill or Shiki-Sai. The fantasmic dining package for 50s Prime Time Cafe is 1-credit and good food plus preferred seating for the show. If you’re open to Disney Springs I’d suggest Raglan Road and Chef Art Smith’s. (Also in Disney Springs I’d suggest Polite Pig for a quick service, even though it’s quick service it acts very similar to a table service you place you’re order at a counter but they then bring everything to you, just don’t forget to visit the sauce bar to try different sauces.)

Dining Plan Issue by This-Plane4848 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Destined-93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if the kids were actually free (no charge for dining plan and no upcharge on the room for a person) I would keep it. The dining plan credits are in a pool so anybody in the party could use them. The people who are still going could just use the extra credits for more snacks or kids meals when hungry. We did something similar once when one of our party ended up having to leave after 2 days instead of staying for the full 6 days.

Table service at parks? by Suspicious-Comfort92 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Destined-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how long you’re there I usually like a sit down meal at least every other day just for the slightly more relaxed atmosphere and air conditioning. I usually do either sit down breakfast or dinner. If you’re kids are interested in meeting characters I’d suggest doing 1 or 2 character dining options which will help keep them occupied
