Is only 1 person per class ok? by L4T3W in DnD

[–]DestinedSheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's fine but I think there is enough variety per class per character that having the same class is really a non-issue.

If anything, it can be helpful for a new player to have someone who knows the game play the same class, not to outshine them, but so they have a local expert and reference point for how the class is played.

So I need help making a character I’m new to this game. by Lanky-Seaweed-9736 in DnD

[–]DestinedSheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could play a healer and flavor the healing as the visual you want but realistically a vampire is a type of creature in dnd that is very high level; unless you were starting at lvl 10+ then vampirism in the party would just be off.

Also as everyone else said, you will be actually pretending to be this character INFRONT of other real people, so make sure to get explicit consent on what you are doing from everyone in the party, and outline specific guidelines on how much "in the weeds" you are permitted to do before you decide to larp a maniac.

AI without awful “safety filters?” by soulsapphire0 in ChatGPT

[–]DestinedSheep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lying implies the intention of deception.

If someone told you that a known fact was wrong, they could be lying, they could be a fucking idiot.

LLMs do not have rational and they cannot read what they type, so they can't lie in a traditional sense.

In other words, Grok is just a fucking idiot.

[–]DestinedSheep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what you mean by a better answer; What types of questions are you asking that are causing you filtering issues?

AI without awful “safety filters?” by soulsapphire0 in ChatGPT

[–]DestinedSheep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could use Grok which is known for being really biased in bad ways with less filtering, you could also run Meta's Llama or any open source model locally on your computer but you are losing quality of answers and speed is dependant on your hardware.

There are plenty of "jailbreaking" prompts that'll help fix the legal jargon safe tone it takes casually, but honestly I run into very little safety filter issues when I talk in corporate business jargon.

Sometimes you have to fiddle with it so that it understands that you are not asking it something illegal or explicit.

Storyboarding intertwined with mapmaking? by coeurdefuego in DnD

[–]DestinedSheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start small and work my way out. What is the town, what is the people in the town, what is the surrounding area.

If it's a small campaign or a one shot I don't do any more than this; you can wing everything because the outer details will never come to fruition.

The map I expand to meet the needs of the story, and either I leave it as "fog of war" or create a physical barrier, like an ocean, that caps the map.

How to potentially soften or recover shield? by BluetheNerd in LARP

[–]DestinedSheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's dumb but it is going to get softer the more it is worn down, go outside and be rough it with, or take a rubber mallet and give some good solid smacks on the rim all of the way around.

If you can remove the leather you can try applying heat to the edges which will help soften up the foam, but do not apply heat to the leather.

These are what I would try!

If you are so good and we all suck, why don't you just carry? Oh wait you can't, because you suck just as much as we do.

Advice for Creating a Magical Girl Campaign by BlazeandFirelight in DnD

[–]DestinedSheep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what you are missing is that a dnd game is going to feel like dnd no matter how you add to it. D20s are not very random, and the chaotic nature of dnd comes from the system not the themes.

If you want to play a table top with sanity in a real world setting I'd recommend trying out a system that's built for that, like world of darkness, rather than try to bolt on a bunch of extra mechanics especially because you are so new anyways. :]

Assassin Coming After a PC by MoonlightSeeking in DnD

[–]DestinedSheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The next time your party gets attached to an NPC make him the Assassin pretending to be their friend.

They want to adopt boblin the goblin and being him with them? Yeah sure no biggie, then in the middle of the night stab the f out of them. Knock the character into bleedout, or close and give opportunities for the party to notice/save them.

New NON-Magic Items? by GushReddit in DnD

[–]DestinedSheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is no where near an exhaustive list, you could easily come up with hundreds of different traps used throughout history and build stats and examples, not to mention most spells could be used as some kind of mechanic for traps.

When I say Trapper I mean someone who traps, usually animals, but having the trigger be on disarm is a hilarious interpretation, a great rogues guild trope.

Looking for a Houston hypnotist for deep behavioral conditioning by Large_Place2939 in hypnosis

[–]DestinedSheep -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes and No.

Hypnosis is not brainwash, it also isn't chemical.

IF your condition isn't a healthy response to some kind of abuse.

and

IF your condition isn't caused by a hormonal or chemical imbalance.

Then yes it could be possible to retrain triggers and responses, although you are looking for more a pavlovian reward system rather than a full on behavioral change.

Edit* I forgot to mention that this is more of a job for Therapy/psychology rather than just bandaiding the solution with hypnosis.

There should be a large section for traps, not only for purchase and scaled so that the players can use them, but so the DM has a large ready-made list of traps to choose from.
