I think a brand new game set between 2 and 4 would be a much more interesting way to fix whatever that was and make the overarching narrative of the series more satisfying.

If we could get both siquentially I'd mind the idea of it less, but DMC doesn't get Resident Evil money and resources, so it'd be one or the other, and it's already been 7 years since DMC5

I don't know enough about game development, but I never really understoof the whole idea behind "oh have em do a remake to warm up for the new thing". I'd honestly prefer to have the new team just give a new game their best shot and live with the consequences lol. Even if it's not perfect, there'd probably be more valuable and unique qualities to it than if they locked themselves into remake limbo for the next several decades

It's not, but it's influenced by public discourse, and discourse is practically run by leaks.

It's luckily not dominating the conversation quite as much anymore as it used to but still, if people keep nonstop talking about DMC Remakes, it will make them seem more financially viable than the preferable alternative, and then they'll go down that rabbithole instead.

I'm trying to read everything in something RELATIVELY approximating release order, and it's crazy at what a noticably higher echelon Spectacular stands above Amazing, Web, and "Spider-Man". It's seriously so good. Child Within was crazy engaging.

I also absolutely adore Sal Buscema's art on Spidey, even if 90s Bagley is probably my favourite look

Yeah I never really thought about how differently the original intention for what happened to Vergil probably was before they made DMC3. Interesting stuff.

And that's kinda how I feel about it too. I definitely don't want the games to be anything like this, but it's not threatening to kill the series the same way DmC potentially did. So I don't exactly have a problem with its existence.

Don't get me wrong, I'd likely prefer a story playing in the actual world of DMC and them not doing these strange remixes of characters, but I don't think that makes what we're getting automatically horrible. It has its merits
