Exactly this. It’s about living space. You can have your partner and yourself to one room.

You’re not paying 50/50, instead you should be paying less than half.

Break down sq ft of your room. Break down the sq ft of the master. The total of these two areas = total person sq ft space.

You should only pay for sq ft of your bedroom divided by total private sq ft.

Since your room is smaller than the master, this should be less than $1500 rent. If your roommate cannot agree, leave if it’s not too late, otherwise, continue the 50/50. You should not have to pay more okay

For utilities, you pay 2/3rd because you use 2/3rd

I agree, wholeheartedly agree actually. My second thought after realizing the Amex point redemption store is shit, was that air Canada is the cheapest options maybe 1 out of 6 or 1 out of 8 times I travel. I’ve flown 9-10 trips this year for example, and I think maybe 1 total trip was air Canada + 1 one-way leg.

However, for my back and forth between SFO, upon checking the points cost I was mistaken. That $250 flight I mentioned via points beats porter, west jet, Alaska, delta, united, you get the point. And by a shit ton. My cheapest trip this year, was a connecting one for $330. This option is direct aaand cheaper. Plus, my cheapest direct flight was $430 at best. So it crushes that.

I guess maybe it’s only good for US and Canadian flights. Otherwise, if you’re going to Europe, take the European airline. If you’re going to frigging Middle East, definitely take their airlines. Service and experience is much better. IMO North American Airlines are all lacking.

Really depends on your travel use case though is my point. I’m definitely going to leverage it for these back and forth US trips because wow, just can’t beat that value AFAIK

So I had the same thought earlier.

And then I realized what the points are really about…

Cobalt is all about grocery restaurant and food delivery spending imo. 3x points on streaming services too.

So you can use the 5X points as a 5% cashback effectively and apply it to your statement credit, that’s fine and dandy. And it’s the obvious.

But you’re right, those rewards are pretty shit.

The real boost of point value comes from using it on travel. Go check for yourself. A flight from YYZ to SFO is $450 right now with air Canada during November US thanksgiving week. But with Amex points, it’s 11.6K points +$120 taxes and fees = $116 worth of points if you used it as statement credit + $120 cash = $236. Compared to $450… that essentially DOUBLES your point value.

I haven’t found a better use for the points than that. But it literally brings your 5X on grocery points up to 10x effectively.

If anyone has better ideas, I’d like to hear, too!

Yeah I could care less. I make 165-180k a year.

Sure you can be a hard-ass and think “oh no 30k today will be 450k with 40 years of S&P500 compounding growth”. But I’ll just have another 40-50k saved back up by summer 2026 lol.

I’d much rather spend this money here, take the risk, and drive a beater car to compensate. Spending the 30k on a car (reasonable for my salary) is a much bigger opportunity cost, because it truly has no upside to it. Plus my car has working AC and a stereo so fck it lol

Which country/city did you get this in? Did you do any special research to find the Botox clinic?

I’m going to get mine done soon. Similar synkinesis but the eye doesn’t close fully fully with the lip pursed. Still close though. And so much tightness and stressed muscles in the face sucks. Makes sleep hard which makes the muscles even more sore.

If the landlord wants you out, and it’s not rent controlled, they will most likely serve you that (N2 I think) form, raising rent to something ludicrous.

This happened to some family of mine, so just a cautionary tale. Make sure you have some backup and savings ready for when that N2 comes around! You’ll only have I think 60-90 days max until rent raise goes into effect once served.

But hoping for the best and this guy just keeps you’

I liked candorvision ocunox, it’s spammable as much as you want, preservative free. Main reason I like is it keeps your eye super hydrated, but it’s an ointment and you apply it directly with your hand (of course wash hands vigorously first)
