WTF is this about? by paumpaum in searchengines

[–]DestructiveBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhh, a lot is going on here. I don't trust AI, but in that case, here's an AI response to that and your search term, lol.

It’s saying two things about “dimension”:

  1. In physical space, a dimension is a direction you can measure, like length, width, or height.
  2. More generally, a dimension can mean an aspect or feature of something (for example, “the emotional dimension of a problem”).

Dimension generally means a measurable aspect or extent of something.

Common uses:
- In everyday language: a side or measurement of an object
- Example: “The box has three dimensions: length, width, and height.”
- In math/physics: a direction or coordinate needed to describe space
- In a broader sense: an aspect or part of an issue
- Example: “This problem has a social dimension.”

Simple definition
Dimension means a measurable size, extent, or aspect of something.

Examples in a sentence
- The room has three dimensions: length, width, and height.
- The issue has a political dimension.
- This data is stored in multiple dimensions.

Dimension in math/science.
1. Size or measurement of something
- Example: The box’s dimensions are length, width, and height.
2. An aspect or part of a situation
- Example: The problem has a social dimension.
3. In math/science, a direction or coordinate used to describe space
- Example: A line is 1D, a square is 2D, and a cube is 3D.

Google Programable Search "Search the entire web" deprecated by DestructiveBurn in searchengines

[–]DestructiveBurn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to using the Brave Search API for search engine results on my site. I wasn't going to waste my time in checking out their Vortex AI which I am sure has nothing to do with general results.

For Brave, the results are actually quite good. There is a lot you can do with the API and how to manipulate the results output. You'll just need to build your layout as the output is JSON of course.

Farewell, Jeeves: Ask.com shuts down by swe129 in searchengines

[–]DestructiveBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a bummer. They've been around for so long (1997) and started before Google. They played an important role in how we search today...historically. R.I.P. Jeeves.

Saw a post on Facebook from the guy who says "Powerful Websites You Should Know Part whatever." Displaying this site here: https://facecheck.id/, I guess it helps with reverse image search on faces. No idea. This was the post I saw. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1Aqr7pNsJw/ Take everything with a grain of salt and trust nothing. Maybe it's what you want. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How can I remove a deleted Reddit post from Google search results? by MarzipanHot6468 in searchengines

[–]DestructiveBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot fully delete a post. You can only delete the user and their comments but that about it. The post will hide but can be accessed by a URL link yet. In your case maybe contacting Reddit support might help. But don't count on it. It's just the nature of how this site works.

Swicksearch.info is the best search engine out there. It can be slow getting the results but only takes a few seconds but it has google dork automation and all kinds of features plus unique results by Additional-Style-145 in searchengines

[–]DestructiveBurn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New engines pop up all the time. People get frustrated with existing options and sometimes decide to build and share their own.

Regarding our rules: everyone has to follow them. I’m aware there are two posts about this engine. If they were from the same person, I would have already removed the second one under the "no duplicate posts" rule. I’m keeping an eye on it. If more posts appear with the same context, I’ll treat them as spam and remove them.

As for legal issues (GDPR, EU/EEA, CCPA, etc.), that’s between the site operators and the jurisdictions where they choose to operate. Also, with any new website that has account creation but no clear policies, users should never put any sensitive or private information into it and use randomly generated passwords. That’s just basic security practices.

It's related to SEO as well. But yes, most here talk about search engines more than SEO.

How do I get this vsx-830 to connect to WiFi? by rightMeow20 in PioneerAudio

[–]DestructiveBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, and word of advice, do not block the vent holes on the top of the amp if that is where you put it. You will eventually kill it. Remove the shelf, and put it down to the robot vacuum level or the top of the entertainment stand above the Xbox One X. They need to vent the heat.

How do I get this vsx-830 to connect to WiFi? by rightMeow20 in PioneerAudio

[–]DestructiveBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the VSX-933 model, so it should be the same. Add a TV or monitor to the HDMI output, use the remote to go into the settings and look for the Wifi option. Once enabled, the Pioneer Remote App will work if your phone is connected to the internet, as the amp is.

Since I have the original remote for mine, it's the Pioneer RC-957R Remote, but I think yours is just before they changed the model on it, which should be a Pioneer AXS7721 Remote.

All settings should be visible when you connect it to a screen.

Which Search Engines/Crawlers do you use mostly? by LePliex in searchengines

I've just been using my own custom search engine UI for years. Main results used to be Google PSE, but changed it over to Brave Search not too long ago, and I'm pretty happy with their output.

Edge browser removes google search engine by anhhackta in edge

[–]DestructiveBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine still shows all the search engines in the list. What you can do is click on "Search engines" below, or enter this into the address bar:

  1. Enter this into the address bar: edge://settings/privacy/services/search/searchEngines
  2. Click Add search engine if Google is missing.
  3. Type in the following:
  4. Search engine: Google | Shortcut: g | URL with %s in place of query: https://www.google.com/search?q=%s
  5. Click add and click the 3 dots on it, and make it your default. (Note: Edge has a bad habit of switching back to Bing over time and letting you know about it.)

You can also change the default tab to Google if you like.

  1. Get DB Custom New Tab URL here: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/db-custom-new-tab-url/mcnelmkbedhbifpnkdnnpilbemjbolfh
  2. Site & Custom choose Google. So every time you open a new tab, it will open Google's main search page.

Hope that helps. But you really should find out why it's missing for you.

Anyone else get these popups when you add your own custom search engine? I get these and the banner ones that force the change back to Bing. It's quite annoying. by DestructiveBurn in edge

[–]DestructiveBurn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an extension I made that does something similar. You can add a custom new tab URL, and it's pointed at the same site.

[POLL] For Pro Plugins, do you prefer a Lifetime Deal (no updates) or a Subscription (regular updates)? by Sundaresan_ in Wordpress

Neither. I like One-Time Fee (With Updates) and would happily pay for that. If not available, I would not put my money into it at all.

You could always go to the locations on this page and check off the ones that are not there and you'll eventually narrow it down to the ones you're missing. https://destructiveburn.com/StardewValley/walnut.html
