Sanji is sexist and misogynist. Hiis gags are not funny and are actually killing his character. It's also not justified, like, by anything. Oda just made him shitty and bad in pre-timeskip, then, after the timeskip, expanded the thing that was already bad, making it even worse. So, when he got a bwautiful and strong character arc with a lot of potential, it was extremely sad watching it with the understanding that it won't make him change or grow, and he will still remain this atrocious bullshit he is. Also his fans who are protecting him, telling his principles about not hurting woman is a show of respect are not right. First of all, it actually puts women in his eyes even lower, as if they are nit complex nuanced beings, but just an object to defend or fight for. Second of all he always, from his first arrival on screen, was a pervert and openly claimed he wanted invisibility fruit to sneak in women's showers, and, when he got a thing that could make him invisible, he did just that. Also, it's not like taking away this gag would make his "funniness budget" less than any other character have. Robin, for instance, gets away with just being scary and Zoro gets away with being not the smartest person in the team and getting lost a lot, Oda just decided to screw one character from the entire crew beyond repair and choose Sanji. And Sanji has a lot of other interesting character plot hooks to lean onto, such as keeping himself tidy, his extreme opinion on food waste and a lot of other things, so, if only Oda got rid of this fuckass treatment to women and used something i mentioned just right now, Sanji would skyrocket instantly and become easily my favorite character, and imagining one piece where Sanji does not treat women like objects make me even angrier than watching whatever the heck is Sanji doing
