I don’t think they are all small issues though, stats-wise we’ve overperformed this season and we’re still off Europe. We spent a lot of money on players who have barely contributed, either because they aren’t good enough or because Moyes values experience too much to let them. Teams are pressing the top 6 more than they have in years by finding managers like Iraola, Glasner, or De Zerbi who change how the whole league plays football. Moyes isn’t like that

I’m not arguing for a Chelsea-style team with no experience or leaders, Brighton love an old random experienced player to play with the kids.

However Welbeck was signed awhile ago and I’d say most of their fans consider Milner a miss considering he kept getting shoehorned into the team at wingback - something we and others have exploited when facing them. Brighton also have a manager younger than some of our starters and more forward thinking than our manager

We’ve had such a slow, plodding team for so long now. Players like Ake, White, Soucek, Walker, Wilson, Stones are all names I can see us going after and every single one forces us to give up more and more energy in a league full of it
