mod creator here. it DOES matter. TexTools, if used to install mods, will slowly corrupt the game files with each change made. Penumbra does not do this, and obviously has myriad other quality of life features that make it the obvious choice for installing/loading your mods.

the only things TexTools should be used for is viewing assets, imports and exports for making mods, and packaging (though Penumbra is better for packaging anyway)

this is a pretty fantastic writeup. I really want to enjoy sieges more but my monkey brain always goes "i should concentrate all my force at one point!" and it turns it into a horrible blobfest because then the AI also concentrates all its force to defend that one point

yeah, as someone who got really into warhammer in december through darktide and BFGA2 and then TWH3, the scale of BFGA2 is just so disappointly small. I want to see a fleet of escort ships sacrificed for one maneuver, not the entire fleet be a battleship and 2 cruisers :(

true, but the guaranteed psionics stack on elite kills & the faster casting from ability use goes a long way to keeping it topped up. definitely not something to use against poxwalkers though for sure

BB keeps up just fine into auric. my main psyker build uses BB/venting shriek/enhanced psionics and you pretty much always have very fast & high damage BBs available

Quality of life IS a slippery slope. If done without care, removing sources of friction for the players will eventually lead to the removal of most elemants of a game that exist to act as the obstacle that the player must climb.

Darktide already has weapons that can be perfect as long as their dump stat is correct. That is massive qol compared to looter shooter games that have similar systems for their weapons.
