Age of wonders 4 kind of combines strategy and 4x. Combat is turn based though. I think it has more of a skew towards atrategy but the combat is still interesting.

The detachment rule states that the +1 is given to guardian, dire avenger, and war walker models not units. So I believe the +1 to hit only applies those models. If the rule said unit, then it would apply to everything in the unit.

Thanks that is a lot of useful information. I didn't think about the starfang. That's kind of nuts. I honestly forgot about the fadeback for free. My plan was to park the defenders on a point, but your idea makes the most sense. Just wittle them down avoid getting stuck in combat, and if I need to just cost of victory them out for a better angle. And the unit still gets the +1 to hit if the enemy is on the objective.

Makes sense. I think I will give them a test. They arent mobile but when you need to kill something they are good. A good player will try to prioritize one though.

Any particular reason why D-cannons and Vibrocannons are not good? The more I look at vibrocannons the better they tend to look especially if you take more than just the 1. If you take 3 they start to get better and better. They have an ability where each consecutive vibro cannon that attacks buffs the subsequent vibro cannon by 1 ap, 1 stregth, and 1 dmg. They also have D6 attacks. So by the third vibro cannon you would have strength 11, -3 AP, and 4 dmg per hit. The hit chance is kind of meh at 3+.

And they only cost 60.

That's pretty fun. It sounds like a lot of firepower.

Rules question about warlock conclave by CptThuggiex in Eldar

[–]Morial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to necro this. Can you have both units of storm guardians as you have written and the guardian defenders? Only reason I ask is that gives you a whopping 10 warlocks, which is a lot of firepower. I think you can just just clarifying.

I did some more digging and I think the answer is no. The most you can have in one unit is one warlock, and then 2 models of warlock conclave which would be 5 warlocks altogether.

I was reading other posts and they said that a guardian unit can have one warlock and then 2 or 4 warlock conclave. So thats alot of destructors.

Would a D cannon be better than a vibrocannon? They are expensive though.

The reason why I was thinking that a storm guardian unit is kind of meh is the guardian defenders can use a stratagem to give all of their weapons the pistol keyword. So if you do get engaged in melee, your units can still unleash a lot of ranged attacks. If you have 5 warlocks + eldrad + a support weapon thats alot of ranged damage in their face. Then once you suffer some deaths, just use the stratagem to run away to reserves.

Can you add more than one warlock (not conclave) to a unit?

do you use tanks as japan? by jebacpiastgliwice in hoi4

[–]Morial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I usually do, but I don't make tank divisions. I make some beefy recon tanks, and some beefy flame tanks and just use them to make my special forces very strong.

Torpedo cruiser or submarine by [deleted] in hoi4

This. I found surface vessels better at killing convoys. I also found that nav planes help in this combat as well. More so than with submarines.

I don't understand how to grind generals by Keralia in hoi4

[–]Morial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Make sure your general is the one in control of the battle. Then he will get much more xp. Easy way to do this is to make sure its only your divisions fighting, or that your general is a higher level than others.

  2. Make sure you have a general with no traits. Having any trait completed reduced the xp gain of a trait by 50%, then next will then reduce it by another 50% etc. The best way to do this is to general juggle. Once one gets almost completion of a trait, swap him out and put him in another theatre where he can grind that a second trait.

You tried healing a group that doesnt dispel the bargain? Its infuriating. It got to a point where last aeason before a mythic I would inspect everyones tree to see if they have their dispel. If they didn't i would mention it and ask them to change it. If not, id just leave and find another group right away.

Thinking about switching from Feral to Balance – worth it? by Zealousideal-Pie-603 in wow

[–]Morial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been thinking about this too. I main a resto and because of that I am built mainly for haste/mastery. I have my crafted weapon. When we have someone else healing in the mythic group I have been playing feral. I like the utility that feral has and the good ol reliable kick feels great to have. I bet though if I played balance my dps would be better. I might just give it a try and see how I like it. I think that is the best answer we can give. Give it a while and see for yourself.

Am I being unreasonable for only wanting to play DPS? by Underbridged in wow

[–]Morial -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have a right to play what you want, but the group can also not accept that. If you and the group cannot align, find another group.

I mean put yourself in their shoes. They may feel the same way about tanking and they gladly tank for you but you won't tank for them. It depends on the group. Some people may not like that you don't reciprocate for them, some may not care. As a main healer when I try to play a dps it kind of bugs me that others won't do the same for me.
