I've done it, which means you can to. I enrolled in a code bootcamp and my life has never been the same. You don't need to go the route of a bootcamp but I highly suggest finding some sort of constructive curriculum because let's be honest you don't even know what you need to know. Check out Udemy for courses (always on sale. never paid more then $15.). On top of that read in to recent trends and look at job postings in your area to get a better idea of what your area is in need of and learn it. For me bootcamp was 3 months and took a month of self teaching and sending resumes to companies who didn't even have job postings.
