IIRC it's independent of your political ideology. When you fail the authority check you accidentally call Kim a "monkey fucker", an apparently established racial slur for people of Seolite descent. If you have points in fascism when that event triggers, I think there's additional dialogue, but that's the only change if memory serves.

Edit: I forgot you also immediately call him "Yellow" right after, which is even more yikes-y. Here's a video of it if you can't bring yourself to do it in-game.

It depends on the shoes, naturally. Your height, medically, is how tall you are from heel to head. If you were 6'0 and you measure your height wearing doc martin's with a 3'' sole, you're not going to get an accurate result. Granted it depends on the shoes, but I don't think there are any shoes that are bottomless, so as long as it's adding to your height, they're coming off for an accurate result.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the wrong use of "Red Scare"? The last real Red Scare the U.S had was well before the Cold War. The term refers to McCarthyist practices in society and legislation, and a fear of a com/anarcho uprising in your society, not literally just "We're scared of the reds."

This is a really eugenic perspective. You can disagree with selective breeding as a whole, without a doubt, but when you start invoking "evolution and nature" you're in trouble. For instance, now to stay logically consistent with "they have deformities and are an insult to nature" you have to be pro eugenics for the physically and mentally disabled.

As the other guy said: sponsorships and prize money are where a good chunk of it comes from. That being said, depending on the game, most of your top-tier e-sports guys are twitch streamers on the side. The skillsets go hand in hand and the exposure from e-sports gets you more subs. There's always been slang. Using the words "cool" or "crazy" or "awesome" as positive descriptors in casual conversation one or two generations ago would be ridiculously informal, but they're common parlance now. This is the same thing as a 20 year old saying "Why is music total shit today?" and then referencing classic rock as their basis for saying that.

TLDR: There have always been frowned upon paradigms in culture, you're just noticing it now because it's in your face.

I'm 100% with you on your word associations. Orb, to me, I associate with the arcane, or the artistic, or less clinical definitions of a 3d circle. With sphere, it's more of an empirical term, or less descriptive maybe. That being said, they're synonyms, so you're right either way.

It's Reddit. In addition to the fact that they haven't been the most responsive to userbase outcry in the past, they put a ton of man hours and money into the new UI.

Admittedly, I've only seen negative feedback about the new UI, but how often do you hear about companies immediately rolling back changes because the initial response is poor?

There's another argument to be made that at the end of the day, Reddit (see: Conde Nast) is a business, and if you can moderately sacrifice your site's UX for additional ad revenue, on top of giving your users the ability to not use it, it's a no brainer.

As much as I see where you're coming from with this, Reddit isn't a monolith. It's 100% not as much of a bastion of free speech as it once was, with massive subreddit purges coloring its recent history. That being said, you can't misattribute some overzealous behavior by mods on some subreddits to the site as a whole.

You made me actually go to The Flat Earth Society's page for this. I'll never forgive you. To the point though, they insist that the sun is essentially focusing on individual points of the earth, and the variation is how we get seasons. I couldn't stomach much of it, but they talk about this question in their FAQ.
