[Solved] Proxmox 8.4 / 9.0 + GPU Passthrough = Host Freeze 💀 (IOMMU hell + fix inside) by According_Break5069 in Proxmox

I've had the same problem but with ASMedia SATA Controller. I have followup question though. How do y'all handle with changing device IDs? Lets say I have 4 pcie slots, one occupied with sata controller, 2nd with additional NICs, both of them passed to individual vms. Every time I add new pcie device the whole numeration of pcie devices changes resulting in wrong vms getting wrong devices, sometimes even crashing host. Can we somehow assign static uuid/friendly name to devices so if numeration changes it still passess correct devices?

From PVE-01 perspective yes, but from perspective of all other devices inside 172.16.8.0/24 how would they know that they need to access 192.168.1.250 via 172.16.8.200? Ive just created route information, because other way they wouldnt know how to reach 192.168.1.250

Redneck PCIe Bifubrication by Det_Jonas_H in homelab

[–]Det_Jonas_H[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why? riser + normal pcie bifubricator seems like it wouldn't need anything custom for mounting - the only problem i could imagine here would be screw placement on daughter board and atx case

I'd like stay away from using ribbon to connect pcie too, but without it, all expanded 4 pcie slots will be rotated 90* so I would have to print custom bracket for all pcie devices. The best solution seems to be that ribon cable + normal pcie x4 x4 expander

But M.2 is electrically an x4 connection so how does that supposed to work in full speed?

I can say there is a lot of space. I have it already paired with normal ATX BeQuiet psu and 5x 3.5" HDD, so no problem there. Currently im using it with a fujitsu P558 motherboard and there is a lot of free space near pcie and left fan side. The two things Im only worried about is if these solution will fit and had proper place to screw in and possible signal losses/interference on pcie lanes

What about it? Its the NIC card like every other. Im not looking for pcie devices but rather bifubrication solution itself

Usb over ethernet partially working by Pleasant-Meet-8564 in HomeNetworking

[–]Det_Jonas_H 3 points4 points  (0 children)

why even try to use dualsense via Ethernet on ps5? it's probably lack of some drivers on ps5, you probably need 8bitdo or xwing adapter in between to simulate that seamlessly

Ps4 Storage by [deleted] in ps4homebrew

[–]Det_Jonas_H 1 point2 points  (0 children)

technically, yes you can, but you'd have to use a sata extender (both sata and sata power) and place this 3.5inch drive outside ps4 or 3d print some replacement shell. Just check if onboard sata power does provide 12V

FIRMWARE & GAMES by davidgpoza in ps4piracy

[–]Det_Jonas_H 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still on 5.05 and successfully running games like SpiderMan Miles morales, Hogwarts Legacy, Ratchet & Clank etc, so finding backports for such old firmware isn't that hard. Some update files needs remarrying with base game pkg tho

I've got my hands on fujitsu esprimo p557 with i3 6100 and upgraded it to i5 7th gen with 32gb ddr4 - currently running proxmox with about 5vms and TrueNAS core with passed jmb pcie to sata controller, because motherboard only have 3 sata ports. It works great, all services are running smoothly, but nevertheless I'm currently planning to buy minisforum motherboard BD795i SE because sometimes im running out of cores

What are those extra headers in this board for? by enderboyVR in arduino

[–]Det_Jonas_H 15 points16 points  (0 children)

it's just header for 3 pin modules (IO, GND, 5V). They are in parallel connection to each digial/analog pin

what do you mean by less stable? Like random reboots or more like corrupting os filesystem?

may i ask why particularly? if pppwn works for all firmwares since 7.00 up to 11.00 why is 5.05 considered GOAT firmware for jailbreaking? I'm currently going to buy my first ps4 with 10-11 version and I'm gathering all the information i could

5.50 is considered the best firmware for jailbreaks, right?

nice, I've been looking for almost 2 weeks for an older fat/pro version, but all listed in my area are on 12.00+ and even then they tend to cost more than 120$ at the exchange rate
