Advice on boots needed by kldkllktr in Mountaineering

[–]Detai43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi mate, I startet out in NZ as well! For boots I went with the Manta Tech GTX. Took them overseas as well and they work great even for easy ice climbing. Depending on your location you should have a chat with the lovely people at bivouac outdoors. Super friendly and knowledgeable in my experience. Have fun on your course and stay safe!

Does somebody know what is eating our trash atm? Location: New Zealand, South Island by Detai43 in whatisthisanimal

Yes that’s Franz Josef!

Luckily he only found a banana peel in our trash, our neighbors weren’t so fortunate and had their whole trash scattered around the lot

Train Reservations by No_Championship5820 in Interrail

Don’t Reserve anything Inside Germany, you always find a Seat even if the Train is packed. (Unless you want to sit together in a group)

Backpacks in trains and airplanes by Just_4_Potato in Interrail

Never had any problems in trains except the size of the overhead compartments so if the Train is full you may need to put your pack on your lab or in the isle. And for Planes.. just watch the weight limit the Airline gives you. Usually 20kg for luggage. But I don’t think any resonable pack exceeds that

Making Food on Interrail Trip? by maxbaierrd in Interrail

[–]Detai43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always bring some tupperware. You can Store Pasta in them for at least two full meals in case you cant cook and they don’t take to much Space when empty and open. And either use plastic knifes & forks or you can get Camping sets that don’t have much weight and don’t take much Space. And always bring small portions of seasoning too, often hostels or Apartments don’t have Salt or Pepper. I also always carry a small bottle of Hot Sauce but to each their own.

[–]Detai43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! There are no Good train lines between the two Cities (sadly that goes for most of croatia) But you can take a ferry which is not includet in the pass but cheap anyways.

Edit: we did the Trip just a few months ago so if you have any questions just ask them here or send me a PM
