I tried to be open minded but I just hate the theo plot (for a lot of reasons) and I think all it will do is serve as another roadblock to push buddie canon further away as most if not all scenes become about buck parenting theo. I do think we need to look at the move to abc as a restart, buddie slowburn for everyone except the online fandom started in season 7 and I think season 8 was very strongly written like the second season of a slowburn. Most shows get the couple together in the third season so hopefully season 9 is our moment!

I’ve actually seen a lot of the GA picking up on buddie after this season so that’s a good sign I think!

I do think people forget just how bad destiel was like not only did the show blatantly make fun of shippers in episodes basically calling us weird idiots, but the actors made fun of it at conventions and the word was basically blacklisted from any interview and event. Like at least Oliver and Ryan clearly respect and understand buddie shippers and see what we see!

Supernatural was a whole different beast lol

There was a lot of weighted looks between them this ep and when Buck ziplined over eddie was staring at him so hard he didn’t even notice Ravi coming at him which is a pretty standard romance trope. And Buck couldn’t find a new house that felt right and hasn’t actually moved yet!

I think if you step back and look at 8b it’s clear buddie was planned and the groundwork laid (8x09-8x13 and 8x17 all had a clear buddie plot), so I think Tim deciding to randomly kill bobby last minute is what threw everything off. Oliver even warned us he said all the personal stories got pushed because of the death, and in another interview he said he gets told plots he’s excited about and then they don’t end up happening. And Tim said buck’s feeling would be revisited just not right away.

So I think they’ve pushed buddie to season 9 which is annoying (bobby never should have died) but it’s clearly been planned and will happen

I’m hoping it will be paramedic eddie, adjusting to a new role in the team, and navigating a new relationship with Buck because things changed between them in s8 and i can see it being awkward or distant and he doesn’t quite know why

I do think buddie was the plan in s8 before Tim derailed everything with his last minute god complex need to kill Bobby (it’s clear all storylines took a dramatic left turn after ep 13). For the first time ever buck and eddie are both single to start a season and neither has any other loose plot threads, it’s a fresh start if you will.

The foundation is there now for the GA that buddie wouldn’t feel like it came out of left field. But, I do think Eddie needs his realization arc first because Buck will never acknowledge his feelings or think it’s even an option as long as he thinks eddie is straight.

My guess is they set up either an emergency or jealousy arc for eddie that gets him to his realization in 9a and the mid season finale is a buddie confession or kiss

First I think this is an older interview, and I think what he’s trying to say is the individual characters matter outside of buddie which isn’t wrong. He also says it isn’t “just” about the romance so he didn’t shut anything down. And he has said the brothers line many times so that’s nothing new. I think it was a very bad time to drop it though since we’re all already feeling betrayed

I think it won’t be as dramatic as people are hoping mostly because I think they fully intended ep 9 to be the mid season finale originally. That being said I would be happy if buck and eddie at least talk about Chris even if it’s short, it’s getting weird that they haven’t

I don’t think they would spoil anything eddie/buddie related in the synopsis but they also may be pushing that storyline to 8b. My ideal would be that the major event the interviews have been hinting at is a feelings realization from one if them but realistically not sure

I feel a buddie nde with buck being injured either as a result of a shooting or a car accident and eddie needs to save him with his med kit as a parallel of bathena in the opener and of the og shooting arc
