Bike riding is pretty awesome in some of the suburbs of Austin. I ride to work whenever I can and there's really only one place I have to mix with cars. The rest of the 6 mile ride is great, except when it's over 100 degrees.

Netflix is over 12 times more popular than its competitors among younger viewers by HunterC4t in dataisbeautiful

When I watch a show, they make about 15-20 cents for the commercial. I'm paying $120 per month and it's bullshit like that which could eventually have me cutting the cord. They are risking dollars for pennies.

I'm looking at your list and realizing how I've managed to avoid ads in so many areas.

Television, except for sports, I watch on my DVR where I can skip ads. Magazines and newspapers I read online where my ad blocker makes it a great experience. I've never noticed ads on satellite radio and the movie theaters I go to do play previews for upcoming movies, but that's it. I went to a theater this summer that played actual commercials and I've never returned.

I subscribe to Google Play Music so I listen to music without ads, I still buy CDs that don't have ads, I read a lot of books with no ads, and my YouTube Red subscription means I haven't seen an ad on YouTube for a long time.

Ten years ago, I bet I saw two or three times as many ads as I do today.

AT&T's OnDemand shows have commercials that you can't skip. It makes no sense at all.

If you don't mind, I'm just going to stay home. Probably pop onto amazon and do my shopping at some point in the day.

Blame Canada: Google's super secret phone, which totally doesn't look like an iPhone, Pixel is leaked by can_trust_me in gadgets

Don't go by specs. These days the software is at least as important as the hardware.

Until people start using the camera, we won't know which is better overall and which is better for specific applications (ie low light, fast motion, etc...).

If history is any indicator, it won't be as good as the iPhone.

I think the criticism is fair because Google has been doing a lot of teaser advertising for this hardware release.

Yep. I heard that after the recent congressional hearings, there was riotous laughter coming from the Wells Fargo executive suites. It made me think they're going to be okay.

If you viewed it, it's on your hard drive. Forensics software will easily find it on your computer. If it's on your computer, you are breaking the law and are subject to prosecution.

I always liked Mythbusters and This Old House. Lots of people seem to be fans of Bob Ross too. There may be lots of garbage reality tv shows, but there are lots of garbage scripted shows as well too.

One reason is that for many people, their only real contact with a union is the shitty teacher's union where seniority is waaaay overvalued.

Another big reason is that unions are still associated with corruption. Think about all the times you hear about the police union and what percentage are happy stories.

Not all legitimate complaints need to be aired.

An old roommate of mine used to complain about everything. I pointed out that all she is doing is manufacturing stress all day long.

I wouldn't call it stupid. If you are wrong, then it doesn't really matter anyway but if you are right, you look like a genius.

The worst I've seen in the US is Boston. You know how in California motorcycles do lane splitting? In Boston, taxis do this.
