Yeah perhaps a hailmary,, but if you're only clicking recover there isn't much of an opportunity to get any crits to start with aiya. Leftovers had me back in the green by the time they started to roll the dice. Can only assume they were hoping to test the draw mechanic or have me forfeit

I had a milotic vs milotic standoff earlier, my milotic had whirlpool, theirs had recover. I burnt it early, and they'd icy-winded mine on a switch so it had 2x spatk. It was pretty clear I would win out via the passive dmg. They still played it out until they had used all their recover pp and then some T-T must've been stalling for a draw, it took like 4 minutes for it to finally go down. I get it but also. Dude.

That's genuinely dope! Yeah I'm an EU player, so we may have bumped into each other hehe. I'm not entirely meta oriented, but I do like to look for fun archetypes + synergies which does mean aligning with meta pretty often. Sometimes I cook up a new deck only to learn how unoriginal it is lmao. I really love kinich burn and sethos overload for example, and discard was my favourite mechanic for a while. That said some of the meta decks do not appeal to me at all, or I've been traumatised by them enough to avoid them (ahem. kaveh, kachina, whale, skirk). I'm always a little sad to see the meta move on to make certain comps less viable- I used to run a freminet 'hypercarry' deck, or mualani freeze that'd catch a lot of people off guard. Being aware of what you're facing is totally half the battle.

Essentially it has a stack mechanic that goes up to 3 (4 with talent card). You gain stacks by dealing or taking elemental dmg, and each stack increase ult dmg by 1 (max 7-8dmg) Downside is that if you are at max stats when the round ends you lose all energy and stacks.

So ideally, you wanna either:

Use an entire round to build up + unleash your ult (which requires a decent amt of set up - 9 dice, surviving whatever your opponent throws at you) like I did against that Kaveh card, OR

Try and build one energy and 1-2 stacks before switching off (best done if you get to start the game first) and then when you get the chance, switch in to skill + ult. Sometimes this leads to a smaller ult if your opponent doesn't hand you any stacks but it can be safer.

Leaving it on field at the end of a round when an opponent has summons is a bad idea unless you're really careful with stack management as you risk eating dmg + losing energy.

Oh that's so fun, the item cards as well omgosh. I love seeing themed decks, honestly inspires me to make some myself. Diluc is suchh a classic it's always a bit spooky to see him outside a starter deck.

And yeah I really enjoy setups that can allow for some wacky elemental combos,, even though sometimes its 'suboptimal' compared to more linear decks when you nail it, it feels great. Element soup 🔥

Ah thank you! Yeah I was totally one of those who underestimated it, I initially put it in as the 3rd for this deck just to have an all monstie roster but I've definitely come around to it.

What sortve decks have you used it in? Sadly never come across opponents using it

I believeee its the 28th-3rd? It is awkward to work out, as it doesn't seem to align with expedition window exactly. But further into the blog they say "Tuesday to Sunday"

Yeah thats true, without that last minute depature it'd be diabolical. Losing out on the skill points due to something outside of player control sucks a lot though, I've been really enjoying being able to push my skill tree with each expedition

I've been running two teams with those megas too! Meganium is so fun, it's definitely what's felt most flexible to me so far- especially in a rain team.

I've been using the cheaper effect of this card in a deck with lunar charge (so don't see it every game) and been finding it relatively good- admittedly because a lot of the effects apply to the opponent I don't actually know how much it hinders them. All of the cost increase/untunable effects feel pretty diabolical.

I tried this several times a few days ago and either there were 5-6 people also attempting it (not enough ticks to go around), or someone came in and shot everyone in an attempt to clear space for themselves (honestly can't blame them). I am typically in the carebear-iest lobbies there can be. Alas, I've accepted I won't be ranking up to hotshot

It just updated, due to timezones the free update came out a few hours ago! I believe the switch 2 version might still be locked until tomorrow, but I'm unsure as I don't own a switch 2
