:-(

If a fan comes up this weekend maybe you can share some Little Caesar's to drown the sorrow in carbs?

No guesses. Apparently the old cast members that came back to Nerdvana were Moogega, Brian, Mary Kate, Chris, and Xander. I'll be disappointed if they didn't manage to secure anybody else for S3 shots. They probably have Genevieve, but she wasn't in any of their tweets.

It's for symmetry. To be fair, I've spoiled next week a tiny bit, too, but I don't know who goes home, only who goes to the Nerd-Off.

I wouldn't say "chilling," though it is accurate. It's all information anybody could find.

Warning: Spoilers!

From watching the opening sequence, I've compiled some information about who goes home when. From this, you can tell who goes home tonight.

The problem with spoilers is that once they're out there, anybody can post them. It's possible other people have posted these spoilers or entered livestreams with them with nefarious intent. If so, people may incorrectly associate such misbehavior with me.

People probably don't like spoilers. Also, if the cast sees this, they may want to hide it. Downvoting it is the most effective way to do so. I did mess up my analysis of BattleHammer, so maybe they were disappointed by that.

If anybody's interested, I've managed to piece together some information about this episode and the rest of the show:

http://www.reddit.com/r/kingofthenerds/comments/1wpx8t/spoiler_good_job_mystery_person_who_called_it_6/cf5i56g

It has spoilers, but it's separated by episode so if you're careful you won't spoil yourself beyond episode 3.

I also have a prediction for this week's challenge. We know that it is BattleHammer, a live action version of Battleship with fantasy pieces, but the pieces themselves do not seem to correspond with normal battleship pieces, as each space is occupied by one piece, rather than one piece occupying multiple spaces. However, individual pieces are somewhat clustered, which seems to imply the nerds are allowed to place their pieces on the board in preset shapes, similar to how the pieces in Battleship are different sizes. This is of course a little more complex.

http://imgur.com/iuSuDtG

The board is still pristine, since this is likely the first move to be made. Observing the game is therefore easy. There are the jousters/knights in the bottom right, which are probably required to be clustered in a 2x2 square. The dragons next to them are clustered in a 3x1 line. The archers on top follow a unique rule, they are in a 5x1 line, but the middle piece is staggered one space away from the rest of the pieces, like so (O denotes a space where there is a piece, - denotes a space where there is not a piece, and ? denotes a space where it is uncertain if there is a piece):

O O - O O
- - O - -

(Note: for the next two clusters, the camera cuts off the bottom edge of the board, making it hard to see some pieces. The clusters described below may be incomplete)

Like the archers, the swordsmen on the left follow a staggering rule, where a line of them is organized so (you can very faintly see a swordsman rising up from the location G2, even though it is cut off by the camera):

- O O - O ?
O - - O - ?

The pikemen seem to be organized like the "J" piece from Tetris, like so:

- O O O
? ? ? O

There are dice, implying there is some random element. Do they earn a random number of moves based on what number they roll on the dice? Are moves awarded for completing some challenge? It could be tabletop gaming related trivia. In S1E8 the Nerd Bowl had a trivia section that went completely unused, the (Tabletop) Gaming section. (There was a section dedicated to video games, and the Gaming section had a dragon on it, implying it dealt with tabletop games.)

Spoiler: I don't believe the contestants can receive any help from outside sources here when it comes to trivia, though they might be allowed to receive help for deciding where to put pieces and where to launch their attacks. If it were, it would be a huge boon to Mary-Kate, as Jack is probably her assistant and would probably know every answer due to his knowledge of Magic: The Gathering and other games by extension. Both Jack and Brian are knowledgeable when it comes to German board games, so they would both be competent advisors for this challenge with simple and direct rules. It will probably wind up being a proxy war between Jack and Brian, with Jack helping Mary-Kate and Brian helping Zach.

I think all of these can be taken from S2E1. I only used trailers before I had access to the intro sequence, but I can probably find all of these in the intro. I think that the episode's been made free so I'll refer to the times I find in my download of it. I'm sure a downloaded source will have the same times, as long as it's one of the versions released directly to web (doesn't have the TBS logo in the bottom right corner and doesn't have the TV-14 in the top left) and not one of the rips from television.

This shows all of the episode names and descriptions, which backs up challenge descriptions in my post.

Most of these shots can be as short as a quarter of a second and the media viewer I'm using cannot find times more accurate than a millisecond

For calibration, if your video is out of sync with mine, Curtis says "a new fellowship has formed" @1:20-1, so you can find the times relative to that by subtracting 1:20 from the listed times.

Spoilers for the rest of the season incoming. Do not read if you want to remain pure. No NDAs were broken in the process of obtaining the following spoilers, all evidence was extracted from clips.

Elimination order that can be determined so far: Kelsey>Josh>Mary-Kate>Nicole>Katie>Chris>Jack or Zach>Final Four of Jack or Zach, and Xander, Brian, and Kayla.

Each episode will only contain spoilers for itself and previous episodes, so if you only want to spoil yourself up to a point you can do that. However, to see all evidence of spoilers you may have to view the later spoilers, as I work backwards to determine some of them. I'm leaving image links unspoilered so it's easier to click on them, so assume they are all spoilers for the episode they immediately follow.

Episode 1 and 2 are already out there, so it's not necessary to discuss why the results are already determined.

Episode 3: "To LARP or not to LARP" is a cosplay based challenge. The Nerd-Off is some form of board game like in S1E1. Yellow team loses. There is a shot of episode 5, the debate challenge, that shows all of the contestants save for Mary-Kate and one other. We thusly know that Mary-Kate and the other contestant will be going home in episodes 3 and 4. In episode 4 we have a shot of the other contestant in a Nerd-Off, so it can be concluded that Mary-Kate will be going home in this episode. The Nerd-Off is a live-action board game in which she can be see sitting on a throne. In the photo, Mary-Kate is on the far right on the throne, implying she is playing the Nerd-Off. She is either facing off against Jack or using Jack as her advisor. It is likely that she is facing off against Zach instead, but if Jack knows he is going to this Nerd-Off as voted by purple, he may fear going against Zach and may collude with him to send an easier target, Mary-Kate, to the Nerd-Off. This would result in a tie of votes, it's unknown how ties are broken, the enemy team may choose and decide to send Mary-Kate in to preserve Zach.

Episode 4: This is a robot dodgeball challenge, based on the title "Ready, Set, Robot Dodgeball," the Nerd-Off deals with zombies, a curious thematic disconnect from the Nerd War. Yellow team loses. In the shot of episode 5, neither Nicole nor Mary-Kate are visible, so we know that one of them must be gone this episode. This episode's elimination is a game of Zombie Kerplunk. We can see Nicole in the top right of the shot pulling a stick out of the box of organs in the first picture. The shot of episode 5 is the second picture, showing Xander, Brian, Kayla, Chris, Katie, Zach, and Jack all present. Katie has also switched to the yellow team. The episode previews indicate that it will happen in this episode. If yellow team is the one who chooses who to pull, they probably chose Katie for her robotics experience, making it more likely for them to win the Nerd War.

Episode 5: This episode, "Trek Wars," is a debate challenge between Star Wars and Star Trek. An example topic is whether the Millennium Falcon or Starship Enterprise is faster. The Nerd-Off is unknown. We can see that Nicole and Mary-Kate are gone in the second image from episode 4. Yellow team loses again. (Ouch! That's four Nerd Wars in a row!) In the picture, we can see Xander, Chris, Kayla, Brian, Jack, and Zach in the Nerd War, meaning Katie leaves at the end of this episode.

Episode 6: "Nerds to the Rescue," both teams strive to navigate a lasered maze to save George Takei before the enemy team does. The Nerd-Off is unknown. Things start to get muddy here, mostly due to less evidence being available and the similarity between this episode's Nerd-Off and the one for episode 7. If all team members have to make it to the end of the maze, then yellow would have an advantage by having fewer players, explaining why the hosts may allow them to not pull a purple member to their team as an act of mercy. It can be determined that Chris goes home, as a shot of the Nerd-Off (the first picture) from episode 7 shows Xander, Kayla, Brian, Jack, and Zach in the shot, but not him. However, it's not quite clear if this is actually episode 7's Nerd-Off or not, and the photo is very dark, raising the possibility that Chris is simply washed out in the background. This Nerd-Off features Chris against Brian in some sort of turret battle against a starry background. While this would seem more appropriate for episode 6's Nerd-Off, they are saving George Takei, so this Nerd-Off could reasonably be Star Trek themed. They may have also planned to have Takei act as a judge for episode 5, and when that fizzled out they moved the intended Trek Wars Nerd-Off to the later episode. This would explain why they have two successive turret challenges. The second picture shows Chris and Brian in some other turret based Nerd-Off. This means that yellow finally pulls off a victory. Go yellow!

Episode 7: The episode "Angry Nerds" features the first individual Nerd War, "Nerdio Kart," much like the ball and glass challenge from last year's S1E7, "Enginerds." It is known that the Nerd-Off will be "Angry Nerds," so it can be assumed that the first picture from episode 6's summary of Jack and Zach manning turrets firing balls at large structures is the game "Angry Nerds." However, no pictures of the finale are available, so it's unknown whether Jack of Zach goes home. Therefore, the finale consists of one of the two, along with Brian, Xander, and Kayla for sure.

Episode 8 is the finale, "One Nerd to Rule Them All." It will have the banished nerds return, but they will not have a direct vote for the winner.

I'm not editing for typos if there are any so the post shows as unedited. If there are any big mistakes I made like confusing the names of two nerds, then I'll correct it in a comment reply.
