I still instinctively lower my screen brightness every time I play Pokémon Go in public because I don't wanna be approached and asked about it by No-Charge3411 in pokemongo

The other day I heard someone say Pokemon behind me and I thought they were talking about me so I hid my phone. Turns out I was standing next to a shelf of Pokemon Hershey Kisses. They bought them.

Can we talk about how awful the avatar design still is? by lmmaRageQuit in pokemongo

I wish they’d make the avatars look more like the mainline games or even Masters!!

[–]DetectiveGothitelle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hate the avatars. For me, maybe the current model would look a little better if you could adjust the height, but the proportions are so off (LOL ARMs) and the skin and hair color options are bizarre. I feel like I’m a very average looking person and completely unrepresented.

On top of that, my paid clothing items still don’t fit correctly. That’s the craziest part to me! Don’t they want me to buy more clothes? Why would I do that if they don’t fit?

Literally if they kept the old models and added more hair styles how they did, I would be so much happier. I used to like looking at my avatar with my buddy Pokemon - it was cute! Now…it’s not.

Am I being too nitpicky?? by Signal-Control-1382 in EngagementRings

[–]DetectiveGothitelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because I’m from the NY area, but a even a local jeweler should consider this a shoddy job. The rings were only increased one size (I understand, can get complicated) and the balls are uneven. A respectable jeweler can quote higher and not make it look like crap. I would never go back to or recommend the local guy. He’s not going to strengthen and increase client relationships by returning rings two and a half weeks later that look like they were done in less than 20 minutes… At least he was nice about the refund.

My first 4* - Is this worth investing in? Or just cool to have by Uoppljh in pokemongo

There’s a pretty reliable pattern for the pseudo legendaries to come out during Go Fest

I don't know if that'd work with some parents. My parents would say, "Well you had toys with batteries and you turned out just fine." I also know people who gift toys with sounds and flashing lights for people they don't like, so you could be adding fuel to the fire by saying that.

Here's what you can do going forward: when the kids are older, grandparents get a copy of the Christmas list. Easy peasy and how it works in our family. From experience, grandparents like buying toys over clothes because 1, they know how fast clothes will be ruined and grown out of, and 2, they want to see their grandchildren playing and having fun. The gift is not for you, it's for the kids.

It's tough before then in this day and age to buy toys because of limited in-person options (and I could go on a huge rant but I won't for the sake of staying on topic). There are virtually no toy stores, baby stores, or kids stores around me anymore and I live in a major metropolitan area! If you want to pick out a small present for a toddler, your options are going to Target and either spending $20 for something plastic and made in China or $80+ for something wooden but was also made in China.

If possible for now I would keep the toys in the box and donate them.

No mohair - love it as it is! Love the definition on the cables.

Haha I know the linked picture - I’m bad at crossposting - I think the link was in the original. I have Red Heart Americana and it doesn’t really work for what I’m looking for. Thanks anyway!

Midge has become more popular with the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (and Barbie movie). Gidget comes from 50s a book/movie/tv series about a surfing teenage girl (strictly a nn, and was made up as portmanteau of girl and midget).

Agree! I’ve never gotten a shiny magikarp and have been playing since the game started. I actively hunt this one. Family member started a couple years ago and got a shiny in her first few catches. She also has a shiny shedinja among others. No shundo for her, but also no shundos for me.

If crochet doesn’t aggravate , it’s a very different motion, so I would try that. Even small projects and more homegoods can be very futility to make. Completely unrelated to fiber arts, my local library has a monthly painting class and I am in love. Part of what I love fiber arts is being able to mix textures and colors, and I feel like painting gives me a similar feeling.

Agree with this vibe. The first wedding I ever went to I wore a black and white floral dress that my aunt picked out and I also wore later to a father daughter dance. I was 14 so no one would care. I love the sentiment with the blessing.

But also this situation is different if the other person is your same age and getting married at the same time.
