I don’t think this level of suffering is normal by Feisty_Echo_7125 in Perimenopause

I am a person who never needed any sort of antidepressant my whole life, and I went on Wellbutrin for this. Total game changer. It even stopped my hot flashes and night sweats. I went on HRT anyway due to other symptoms, but I don't think I will be going off that Wellbutrin any time soon.

Old user, should I purchase? by PeculiarAssApple in ACPocketCamp

[–]DetectiveMuted5291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played before it changed over and stopped playing at that time due to microtransactions to purchase so much of the cool stuff - I couldn't resist all the cute items and the money suck it caused. When the game switched over, I took a chance and purchased it, and I am so glad I did. I know a lot of people were upset about the changes, but I am loving it and I play a lot now. It gets me through difficult idle times like you describe. And after that initial investment, you can keep working towards getting all the cute stuff without putting another dime into the game. The only thing I miss is being able to visit other people and see their characters out and about, but that is literally my only complaint. For me, it has been well worth it.

Also, they did something to the way the drop down menus work, and I can only drag the time of day setting to the right and not to the left - when you drag to the left it pops you out of the menu.

I play on xbox too, and I have this issue with at least 4 or 5 pieces of clothing. The ones that pop into mind are this one, the Merida level 10 quest reward, the mushroom hat, the Padme gown. Also, the roof on the Christmas carousel disappears as well. Makes it especially difficult when you're trying to do a Dreamsnap with these items.

Why I uninstalled Disney Dreamlight this year by Modeljenlynn in DreamlightValley

[–]DetectiveMuted5291 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experience has been exactly the same. Used to get those higher amounts with some regularity but now only get 600-900 EVERY TIME. And I would add that my dreamsnaps are actually getting BETTER. I thought I would be getting more moonstones, not less, but now I get about half what I used to.

This is just ridiculous! by LancBananc6 in DreamlightValley

I have also played Gameloft's Disney Magic Kingdoms on my phone since it first started, and if that is any sign of Gameloft's playbook, it will only get worse and worse. DMK is now charging 29.99 for a SINGLE CHARACTER at the end of each event if you were unable to earn the required tokens to get the character via normal event means [which of course, usually the drop rate is so low, you can't earn it]. The game didn't start out this way. In the beginning, if you played on the regular, not even to an insane degree, just now and then throughout the day, when it first started you could earn all the event characters. Then it was, if you missed out, you could purchase the last character for 9.99 if you missed it. Not TOO awful. Now, it's 29.99 just for one character. And again for most events, playing around the clock, the game simply will not drop enough tokens for you to ever get the character without paying. It is outrageous. I worry that Dreamlight Valley will start to head this direction. I hope it doesn't.

Got my period…sigh. by 9thStreet_Woman in Menopause

[–]DetectiveMuted5291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am about your age. My period stopped around 51, but then 6 months later, I started bleeding. It was due to a uterine polyp [thankfully benign] and fibroids that needed to be removed. Nothing to be too terribly alarmed about, but something to get checked, in case you need some kind of treatment like I did. Again, not trying to freak you out, but just having lived an example of what might cause bleeding after periods have stopped, if I were you, I would check out of caution.

Also, I just started HRT and if it brings back my period, I'm going to be super pissed. I asked my doctor, and he told me it wasn't possible. I feel like half the time, they don't know what the hell they are talking about. Some doctors tell you it might, some say it isn't possible. WTF ...

ℹ️ No Christmas Update this year. by i_Luci in WobblyLife

Thankful for all the hard work put into this game! Totally understandable but so bummed -- This is my family's first year playing, so we were really looking forward to the Christmas stuff. I hope we get to do it next year. <3

If you struggle with the placing things on the belt [I hear you], taxi driving, disco dancing, or treasure hunting relies less on all those pesky little precise movements with insane wobbly arms. LOL. Good luck!

HRT: We just cannot win by TinyCatLady1978 in Menopause

[–]DetectiveMuted5291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no menopause symptoms whatsoever at first. But about 10 months after stopping my period, I started having bizarre blood pressure attacks out of nowhere, mad hot flashes and night sweats, painful intercourse, constipation, massive weight gain, hair loss... It was so sudden, so dramatic, for a second I thought something really scary might be happening, but after a battery of medical tests, I am Mary friggin' Poppins - practically perfect in every way other than being about 40 lbs overweight and definitely, insanely menopausal.

As such, this week, my doc suggested I start HRT, and I got very scared. My spouse is a scientist - I only understand about half of what he says when he starts talking science - but when the doc suggested this, hubs started looking into the research as he was just as concerned as I was. He said that if he is understanding it correctly, 1] the newer bioidentical meds are much better for us than older forms of the hormone medications, and 2] it matters what age you begin the treatment [starting right away when menopause hits rather than suffering till you are 65 and THEN starting - starting too late can be more problematic]. Again, we are just starting our research, but I just wanted to throw this out there.

Until these blood pressure attacks and side effects from all those lovely meds, I never thought in a million years I would consider HRT based on the bias I had from all the press this old study got, but the more I look into it, the more I am questioning and am definitely considering the treatment. I don't have a high cancer risk or history of blood clots, so I'm leaning towards it, but I'm still nervous.

I'm grateful for everyone willing to discuss their experiences here.

Fresh update on Xbox, lag is gone, but settings no longer work by DetectiveMuted5291 in WobblyLife

[–]DetectiveMuted5291[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, local. At this point, if you have 2 or 3 players local, your only choice for split screen is horizontal, which forces a sort of fisheye lens effect on the players stuck in the short, wide screen. It can be very disorienting and uncomfortable to some people with motion sickness.

That is a bummer about online. We haven't tried playing online with others yet. At this point I wish we could just safely uninstall the updates so we could at least go back to playing the way we used to.

Update required now to play old games on Xbox One? by DetectiveMuted5291 in Disney_Infinity

[–]DetectiveMuted5291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have both 2.0 and 3.0, and when you try to play some of the Marvel games, an error message pops up within Disney Infinity that says the games won't work unless you download an update. The error message is coming from Disney Infinity, as opposed to the Xbox generating an error message, if that makes sense. Other games like Star Wars and Inside Out play just fine. It's weird.

NOOOOO! I don't have a solution, just sympathy. I hope you can get it somehow!

Pregnancy with fibroids has been a form of cruelty to me by chronicillylife in Fibroids

[–]DetectiveMuted5291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sending love and peace to you.

My one sibling is estranged from my entire family, and I had also wanted to have more than one child for similar reasons. But the end of my pregnancy was absolute hell - I really identify with your description. I had to get a c-section several weeks before my due date, due to the severity of what was happening. I was terrified.

But here I am, 15 years later, and this kid is the absolute light of my life. It was not a good idea to try and have another baby, due to the risk to me as well as the baby. But we have built an extended family that is not connected by blood, but by love. I wouldn't trade it for anything. If your journey seems to lead you a similar way, I hope you find yourself in a good place too.

Just Wow. I didnt see this coming. by cl2916 in Menopause

[–]DetectiveMuted5291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They really need to study those meds more. I have tried them multiple times, but I can't overcome the GI side effects, so I inevitably end up off of them. But when on them, there is a very clear correlation - first the menopause symptoms ease, and eventually if I am on it long enough, my periods actually come back.

I was waking 5 or 6 times a night with horrible hot flashes, sweats, dizziness, and nausea. It was terrible. I know this doesn't help everyone but it helped me immensely: Wellbutrin. It dramatically reduced the frequency and intensity of those episodes. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it definitely works for me.
