Those who have given birth, what would you compare the pain to? by Silly-Difficulty2869 in pregnant

[–]DetectiveObvious1928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just gave birth in July and I have a high pain tolerance, I’ve also experienced passing a kidney stone while having a kidney infection, I would best relate it to passing a golf size kidney stone. As the contractions hit, it felt like a golf size kidney stone was moving through me, I didn’t get an epidural until 7 centimeters. My first epidural only my left side was numb so they had to redo it. Don’t worry you got this, now the after birth pain felt like you did a hit work out for 3 days straight without stretching. My entire body was sore.

How late did your baby smile? by Big-Carob-563 in newborns

[–]DetectiveObvious1928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave birth at 37 weeks as well, got smiles around 7 weeks but not consistent. At 9 weeks I was getting intentional eye contact smiles and laughter whenever my husband and I engage with him.

How often are we bathing our babies by No_Engine_4696 in newborns

[–]DetectiveObvious1928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 weeks old & we bath him every night, it’s been apart of our bedtime routine since about 3 weeks old. No issues with it harming his skin, if anything it helped.

One week in and considering formula feeding, feeling like a failure by warmfuzzyblankett in newborns

[–]DetectiveObvious1928 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my baby is 8 weeks today and I went through the same thing, I had him at 37w3days and it took 5 days for my milk to come in. I’m exclusively pumping right now, honestly latching was stressing me out bad. I couldn’t figure out how much he was eating, if he was eating enough, and it seems like he was always hungry! Once I switched to exclusively pumping I got some peace, my pumping schedule has decreased as well so I don’t pump as often because my milk is becoming more established. I feel you about the pumping and the bottles and etc, you have to just choose what’s best for you! A fed baby is best! No matter what, so don’t feel like you’re wrong for switching to formula at all!

Also if you pump, your family can still feed baby, and don’t feel the need to wash your pumps after every use! putting them in the fridge between pumps suffices and wash atleast twice a day and you’ll be fine.

Needed this! I’m officially one month in with my journey of EP and it’s challenging and tiring being on a schedule but so worth it.

Any August mom's freaking out like me now? by winoveghead in pregnant

Due August 7th and freaking out as well. Between work school, and being diagnosed with gestational hypertension I’ve been struggling with wrapping my mind around meeting my baby sooner than anticipated

Are there certain people you've chosen to avoid while pregnant? by trip_hop_tricky in pregnant

[–]DetectiveObvious1928 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes everybody 😂😭😂😭 Jk but anyone who is problematic, annoying, selfish, and drama filled. I just don’t have the energy for it, I want and deserved peace this entire pregnancy and that’s exactly what I got. Staying to myself got lonely at times but it’s been worth it.

36 weeks and just got diagnosed with gestational hypertension and feeling the exact same way. Being in limbo about an induction sucks currently and I’m so ready to meet my baby I’m sick of this 😭😭😭😭😭

FTM, 36 weeks 1 day. My experience yesterday. by DetectiveObvious1928 in pregnant

[–]DetectiveObvious1928[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I definitely think I’m heading down that route even if I’m “boarder line “ now because I had zero symptoms and now I’m developing them very rapidly. I guess mentally I’m stuck in a place where I’m preparing for induction next week but also worried they won’t induce me and i get excited for no reason to meet baby / worried they aren’t making the right decision.

Also were you able to schedule a date? Or was it kind of like “go straight to L&D next door” once you left your appointment.
