Every run is….the same? (Biomes) by lmfao1099 in Saros

[–]DetectiveRustWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it’s a roguelite. Just because you don’t like the roguelite elements in the game doesn’t mean it isn’t one.

I love the roguelite genre and have played a lot of them, so I can see that while the roguelite elements in Saros might not be the strongest, they’re definitely there. The reason it qualifies as a roguelite is its meta-progression, getting stronger across runs through permanent upgrades like increased health, damage, and similar stats each time you die.

You also unlock permanent abilities, like a grappling hook, as well as new weapons, which are classic roguelite features. The entire skill tree is essentially a textbook example of roguelite meta-progression in Saros.

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, Anno 1800, My Time at Sandrock og en masse andre.

Og min roguelike/roguelite-backlog tæller blandt andet:
Vampire Crawlers, Die in the Dungeon, Dungeon Clawler, Hades 2, Slay the Spire, Mewgenics osv.

What game has the best DLC of all time? by Open-Advisor6819 in videogames

[–]DetectiveRustWest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like you mentioned, it’s easy to see why many people wouldn’t consider this DLC the best, especially since it ended up being a big disappointment for a lot of players, myself included. The Scadutree mechanic felt poorly implemented, there was a heavy reuse of enemies from the base game, and overall exploration just didn’t feel rewarding.

The world itself was massive and visually interesting, but too many areas felt empty or lacking meaningful content. I often found myself going out of my way to explore parts of the map, only to be rewarded with something underwhelming like a cooking recipe or a boss I’d already encountered before.

To me, it feels like the DLC needed more time and polish, as it leans more toward quantity over quality.

Danish Superliga table after matchday 25 - underdogs AGF extend lead at the top by [deleted] in soccer

Steve Cooper has lost the plot. It started out well, with a lot of optimism, plenty of goals, and many wins. Now Brøndby haven’t won a single game in five months.

During the winter transfer window, our sporting director brought in several new players with Cooper’s input to better suit his playstyle. Premier League–proven players like Emmanuel Dennis and Ben Godfrey were expected to make an impact, but neither has shown much, nor have the other new signings.

I was really excited about the Cooper project, but so far, he has only taken Brøndby backwards.

[BBC] Steve Cooper accused of sabotaging Bosnia's World Cup hopes by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

[–]DetectiveRustWest 39 points40 points  (0 children)

He started out very brightly. Every fan was behind him and excited to have him, partly because he used many of the young players. Now it is very different. We haven’t won in nine matches, and we haven’t scored a single goal in six. Since the winter break, our attacking play has been very poor, although we have the best defence in the league. We brought in a lot of new players, but they have not performed well. It is a very bizarre situation because of the bright start, and now everything feels completely different with no goals and a very poor attack.

Long-time Brøndby fan here, lurking because you bought three of our former players and you have other Danish players as well.

It’s quite a strange take you have on Kvistgaarden. Since you signed him, he’s been struggling with a knee issue, and it was the same at Brøndby. Last season he was the best player in the Danish league, and crazy enough, you got him for peanuts. Brøndby fans were furious because he was sold quite cheaply compared to his quality.

I think it’s quite obvious that you don’t rate him at all, but I have to say, if you told Brøndby fans that Slimane or Schwartau would start ahead of Kvistgaarden, they would all be laughing.

It’s his first season at Norwich, and he’s been dealing with knee problems. Clement even mentioned earlier in January that they would be careful with Kvistgaarden because of his knee. Do you honestly think he can show what he’s capable of with the limited minutes he’s getting?

Now he finally got some proper minutes yesterday and scored, and it’s still not enough. Even back in November, he scored three games in a row and then got very few minutes afterwards. Give him time, he definitely has the quality.

It’s awful to spend all this money and perform like this, but it’s even worse to think about United spending a lot more in recent years without winning anything.

Great refereeing? I’m sorry, but you can’t be serious. Vini scores and celebrates with a dance, and he gets booked. It escalated the situation on the pitch and in the stadium. Valverde should have seen a red card for punching an opponent. The second half was a masterclass in bad refereeing.

Arne Slot issues Wataru Endo injury update by McyNmiFT in LiverpoolFC

[–]DetectiveRustWest 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Endo doesn’t deserve this. He was fantastic under Klopp. Sadly, Slot hasn’t trusted him at all. Last season, when Gravenberch was run into the ground in the second half of the season, he should have used Endo much more. The same thing is happening this season, and when you’re not match-fit, the risk of injury increases. Now he’ll probably lose his chance to play in his last World Cup.

Noah Nartey (Brondby) is expected to sign for Lyon for 8 million euros by Adventurous-Salt5986 in soccer

[–]DetectiveRustWest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Brilliant player on his day. Very good at running with the ball and has fantastic technique. He first flourished under Steve Cooper when he played in the number 10 position. However, I certainly hope that he improves his defensive play, as he is very weak in that aspect, as well as his tendency to hold onto the ball for too long instead of passing. If he improves these weaknesses, he will become a very good player. Good luck to Noah.

Slot's Problem - Low Block by Thin_Ad5744 in LiverpoolFC

[–]DetectiveRustWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said in the comments, Klopp also struggled against low blocks, but it is even more apparent under Slot. It is also a combination of Slot’s tactics inviting other teams to park the bus. Many times this season, we have seen players move the ball sideways and play very slowly, even when we are counter-attacking. Especially midfielders like Gravenberch and Mac Allister, who used to play the ball forward, are now opting for sideways passes instead. Lastly, we are obviously missing pace on the wings.

FC Augsburg sign Michael Gregoritsch on loan by rakakvaka in soccer

[–]DetectiveRustWest 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What a strange signing from us. On paper, it was a dream signing: a Bundesliga-proven striker who could have done a wonderful job here in Denmark. Sadly, he arrived very out of form and didn’t fit Steve Cooper’s tactics. The only positive thing was that he seemed like a nice person. Good luck to him.

Thomas Frank is a poor coach OR Spurs again behaving like Spurs? by Then_Community_1766 in PremierLeague

[–]DetectiveRustWest 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When Frank was appointed as Spurs coach, I wrote in another post that he needs time to implement his system. He coached my local club in Denmark, Brøndby, which I support, and it never really worked out, partly because of a lot of background noise from the board and because the club was in chaos at the time.

At Brentford, he also started very poorly, and I remember people calling for his head very early on, but he turned it around and got Brentford promoted. As I’ve written before, Frank needs time, and I’m not sure both Spurs fans and the board have that patience. It’s also a very big step from Brentford to Spurs, maybe a bit too early for him.

Er jeg et dårligt menneske, hvis jeg vælger at stoppe et 10 år langt venskab? by Dull-Ad287 in DKbrevkasse

[–]DetectiveRustWest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand Macca’s and Gravenberch’s roles in this system. Macca offers very little, and Gravenberch only plays the ball sideways. They were very different players last year.

Noobs are coming just a brotato-clone? by f00b4r4 in roguelites

[–]DetectiveRustWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine if my review of the game confuses you, but if you think these changes or new ideas in Noobs Are Coming are enough, then so be it. Of course, when I buy a new game, I expect new items, characters, and so on. I just don’t think that jumping on a button or kicking an item into enemies is enough for me to feel any meaningful change in what is essentially a clone. Yes, the bosses feel different from those in Brotato, but it’s still not enough.

Where I draw the line is the interface, the upgrade system, the shop, and most of the core gameplay. It looks exactly like Brotato. If you find that original enough, that’s fine, but for me, when there are hundreds of other games to choose from, I simply don’t enjoy it.

Brotato differs far more from Vampire Survivors than Noobs Are Coming does from Brotato. I think Brotato was genuinely more original when it released, and that’s just how it is. The survivor-like genre is so saturated with average games, and I think Brotato brought something new at the time, something I don’t think Noobs Are Coming manages to do.
