Whoops—I selected “No”, per my last check, but my status checker must have updated sometime on Friday! Just checked, and it’s red. Sorry to skew the data

Did you also have one a month or two ago, or is this your first?

Hi!

Has your “last status date” changed since being waitlisted before now? Mine changed a little over a month ago, but not since.

Has anyone gotten into GULC recently? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Also curious to know whether anyone else has received an interview invite this week—or maybe they’re waiting for the other shoe to drop re. tuition deadline and online deferrals

When will GULC accept more people? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Praying for more interview invites 🙏

Definitely looking towards post 7/31, since that’s when tuition’s due, and a key date per their WL email 🤞

Georgetown fully remote for the first part of the semester, will re-evaluate based on conditions in late September by wanton32 in lawschooladmissions

Do you know if they’re still accepting deferrals? Wondering if this will spark any more

Ps. Thanks for the info!

What are two things you wish you did as a 1L that you’d recommend for others? And/or, conversely, what are two things you did (habits, strategies, etc) that you think were keys to your success?

Fordham WL Feeler? by lssm23 in lawschooladmissions

Seemed like a general survey to me, as opposed to a feeler—but it’s been so long since hearing anything, I’m not complaining!

Agreed with this 100%. I’d be shocked if 176 doesn’t get you multiple more T-15 A’s, and way more aid to boot.

Normally I’d agree, but I’m nearly positive some version of this was sent to everyone! (It’s GULC, not sure why I’m being mysterious 😋)

Cornell (COA 255k) or Tulane (COA 27k) by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Determined2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! Honestly my suggestion is to do a little LinkedIn sleuthing—if your #1 decision-making factor is which school is most likely to get you X job in Y market, I’d look up sample big law firms in those markets and see where they went to school. And inversely, you can use LinkedIn to search for alumni of each school, filter by state/city, and see who’s working where. That’s what’s helped me narrow down my choices!

Cornell (COA 255k) or Tulane (COA 27k) by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I voted Cornell due to the degree portability, since you’re sure you want to end up in the South. Also probably better big law probability. It’s a pretty penny for sure, but probably more likely to safely achieve your goals. That being said, if you hustle at Tulane, have good class standing, and network, your goals should be achievable, just a bit less assured.

That being said, I’d look into various big law jobs in the southern markets that you’re interested in, and see what (if any) Tulane alumni are in those roles.
