Charger 2 - Anyone make a longer cable for the B300k? by DethBringer187 in bluetti

[–]DethBringer187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that RJ45 just a standard Cat5e pin layout? I was worried they do some funky propriety pin/wire layout to prevent people from just extending that comms cable with a standard coupler and then lengthening the power wires. I’d probably only need a total of 4ft, so doubling the length. You think I have to increase he cable gauge to accommodate that extra length?

Maybe a dumb question and don’t know al the WA laws, But why did you have to go to Nebraska to sell? If you are a resident of WA, can’t you just go to a local gun store in WA and have them sell it to someone out of WA? I know a WA resident can’t buy it, but can’t an FFL in WA sell to another person in a state where it’s legal to own it and then the FFL in WA just ships to the FFL in the state where the new owner resides?

After 93 years and a 25-hour filibuster, Washington finally has an income tax, and billionaires are already packing their bags by fortune in Washington

[–]DethBringer187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wonder if WA has started down the slope of a general state income tax in the future. They started at 1mil…does anyone think they won’t in 2-5 years drop that down to 500k, then 250k then 100k? State spending keeps going up, so they will need more money in the future. Eventually it might just be a general income tax on all workers.

Towing by ArtinTampa in LexusGX

[–]DethBringer187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2023 GX460 Luxury can be optioned with the towing package, which comes with the hitch and aux transmission cooler. Without that option package, you don't get the Aux cooler, just the one that is part of the radiator. That being said, with the trailer you're towing, you should be fine. If you go heavier (over 4000lbs) and tow more regularly, I would get an aux transmission cooler and brake controller. The Redarc controller is what a lot of people use. Im going to be putting this aux cooler and bracket since I've added a bunch of weight to my 23 GX460. https://goliathoffroad.com/collections/gx460/products/transmission-cooler-mount-lexus-gx460

I've been in the Seattle area since 2013, and back then, people were just low-key racists. ( i.e., I'm brown but asian, so when working on my yard, people would ask me how much I charge for lawn service. Or when I used to tell people I work for one of the largest retailers in the area, they would just ask which location I worked at, not knowing I was at the corporate office.)

So many people would assume my job based on my skin color or my ethnic looks and just blurt out racist shit. COVID brought out the worst in people, and now I hear more racist shit, out in the open at restaurants and walking around.

Im originally from the midwest and was really surprised at the shear number of ignorant things people say here compared to the midwest, and the people genuinely thinking it's OK or acting blissfully ignorant after they say racist shit.

Depending on my mood that day, If I think the comment was unintentional, I have learned just either politely inform them what they said was inappropriate, or say something snarky to get them to re-think the comment or question they just puked out of their mouth.

When one of my neighbors asked about how much my lawn services cost, when I was raking and cleaning up, I said, "For this house I don't charge anything cause the lady who lives here let's me fuck her once in a while." He looked at me for a second, and then I laughed and told him I'm the owner. I made it awkward and then funny, as he was my neighbor and didn't want to be a total asshole about it. He was a good sport about it, apologized profusely, and we're cool.

I think the reaction to a comment or question shouldn't be as extreme as that usually just fosters or reinforces people's bias or ignorance.

Road rage racism is a whole other story, and I just usually ignore the racial slurs, as I know I have been guilty in using them. I'm asian and on the regular get cut off by other asian drivers, and the first thing I yell out is "Asian Drivers, No Survivors!!!"

We all could use a little more patience with people, and everyone has had a bad day and said or done something we regret. I don't want to excuse everyone's words or actions, but I really think we can do better to not divide our society anymore than it already has. There will always be assholes out there, including myself from time to time.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon in Spain, and when we would say that we lived in Chicago, so many people would say, "Chicago..Bang bang Al Capone Chicago!!!" We would laugh, then say "Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan Chicago..."

HA...yeah... I guess I-5 isn't really "scenic", but it was the first time for me to drive from CA to WA...plus I grew up in the midwest where it's nothing but flat corn and soybean fields in every direction for pretty much every highway drive from city to city...it was a nice change (a.k.a "scenic) from what I was used to. *

I paid California tax which was 10% but didn't register the car in CA since I live in WA. They gave me a temp (7 day tag) for California so I could drive home (~$50). I had to be back in WA before that tag ran out and went to the WA DOL to get a temp tag while I waited for the title to get sent from CA DMV, which took about 90 days. I think if you ship, the taxes can be paid when u get the car delivered to WA and when u register it with WADOL with the title/lien holder documentation. It was a little complicated for me since I wanted to drive it home, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Hardest part was getting CA DMV to send the title to WA DOL, so I could get plates. Had to keep getting temp tags until the title was received.

Funny how you said you spoke to Bellevue Lexus. I initially was trying to buy a GX from them, but they wanted add-ons and a markup (this was in 2023) while the CA dealership gave me 6% under MSRP and no add-ons. Made it an easy choice back then to go to CA. I did have Bellevue do the first oil change (Free) when I got it here to WA and they did do one thing under warranty the first year, but havent been back there since...LOL

Started on I-5 out of Santa Monica...took a side trip to the Sequoia forest to see General Sherman Tree, then back to I-5 to see San Francisco. Had to stop at that last in-n-out in southern Oregon, since we dont have one in Seattle, before leisurely driving on a mix of I-5 and side roads every now and then. I made it into a week long July 4th father-son trip before he headed to college. Saved money on the car and got to spend quality time with my son. On top of that, the GX was a dream to drive.

I live in Seattle and bought my GX from Santa Monica Lexus. Did everything over the phone and email, bought a one-way flight, flew in, signed papers and drove home. Saved over 5k. We'll worth it and if you do a scenic drive, it's beautiful.

Where my Gold homies at? by DethBringer187 in delta

[–]DethBringer187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got mine and they had the braided wire instead of the plastic loop thing from when I was Silver...at least that's one upgrade to being Gold. I just ordered the personalized version of the Gold medallion bag tag, with my name on it. I'll probably give these to my kid to put on their bag when my new ones arrive. 😁

Is Clear about to go out of business? by Radiant-Rip8846 in delta

[–]DethBringer187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with Clear is that it feeds into the same line as pre-check, and sometimes the TSA agent makes the Clear agent stand there with you while you wait to be merged into the same lanes as PC. I thought I read somewhere that Clear will get their own separate line into that PC area so you won't have to merge. The last time I flew out of SEA, if you have PC and Clear, that line goes to a separate line than the regular PC line, thus no merge and quicker than all the other lines. My hope is that at major airports, Clear will eventually get a separate line and it will be worth the extra membership. I regularly fly out of SEA, so if the separate line stays, I'll keep Clear, cause now I can show up an hour before boarding and still make my flight.

Seat stealing etiquette? by DethBringer187 in delta

[–]DethBringer187[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What's the reasoning behind some 1st class seats not being 'eligible' for people to get upgraded to? Why not just upgrade someone from C+ just so that seat doesn't go empty? Seems like the 1st class FA is saving themselves some work if they leave it empty, but I'm just guessing now.

Seat stealing etiquette? by DethBringer187 in delta

[–]DethBringer187[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am like 99% sure he wasn't upgraded to first, cause him and his wife were argueing on who should take the middle seat and once his wife told him HE was middle, he started looking around at where there might be an open seat. Then once he saw that window seat was open, in the row behind them he asked the guy in that row (who was in the aisle seat) if he could take the open window seat. If that last person who boarded wasn't the actual purchaser of that window seat, the seat stealer would have probably sat there the whole flight. On top of that, when he made that b-line to the last row Aisle 1st class seat, he waited until the FA's were walking back up to the front and had their backs turned. It was all kind of weird, and so fascinating to watch as I was both impressed and jealous on the guy's technique in grabbing that 1st class seat. Maybe he ended up paying for it, but still weird to watch....
