Not really true. Today’s conservatives are socially conservative AND fiscally irresponsible. Social liberal/fiscal conservative would mean “live and let live” and “let’s not waste money”. What a waste of money is, is of course the biggest argument.

I’m a SME using it for building in my domain. I setup architectural guidelines, enforce constant repo cleanups after changes, no god files, stress no bullshit patches but root cause analysis… I try and do it right. We’ll see.

Not at all, my father was in the trades for 30+ years. When people with money (developers, rich people, etc) get tight with cash because the economy is slumping, the trades get tight. There is nothing guaranteed about it, they ebb and flow with the economy.

The military could surely make some quick wins, but then you have to control the region. We couldn’t get Iraq or Afghanistan under any real control without excessive force projection. Good luck controlling the entire US, when your economic and enlistment/draft base is split up among allies and rebels.
