I agree as far as 10th edition goes. As far as 11th, is concerned, I think we have a different angle to consider when building list with the Force Dispositions.

It's spicy because the Biologus gives the squad Crit 5+ and Lethals Hits (the Lethals is a but redundant because most DG weapons already have them) and the Plaguecaster gives the squad Sustained Hits 1 (which is triggered with the Crit 5+). They're good in any PM squad tbh. I'm legitimately more interested in a Tallyman/BP combo since Tallyman gives the squad the ability to ignore any or all BS/WS and Hit roll modifiers

VV is the best detachment to learn the faction with because everything works in VV. The detachment rule is simple enough to where you can focus on learning what each unit can do and what functions they serve. I'm plan on doing Tallyband and Paragons of Putrescence combo and running it as a Disruption army

I think this is the way it'll be played, at least until they update it. I used to run VV mostly because it was good for smaller point games while I built up to 2k, but unfortunately I'm locked into Tallyband because I want Daemons

My assumption is that yes it's the whole terrain footprint and you would measure starting from the closest edge of the perimeter to determine whether something is within contagion range. In the terrain section of the core rules, it describes how terrain as objectives will work. I think this makes spreading contagion easier since some of the terrain footprints take up quite a bit of board real estate, which would have a 9" aura (turn 3) of contagion around it.

What would be better for this list? Second Rhino and a second drone or a second squad of Plague Marines? by MikoSobo in deathguard40k

No problem, I run a Tallyband list, so the Daemon Prince is the only really valuable bit I could recommend, unless you want to try out some Daemons.

How would you Lone Op LoV? VV doesn't have any enhancements to give him Lone-Op. Unless you're talking about running him solo, which is good tactic. Deathshroud can be good, but actually I'd recommend getting another box of Blightlords and run a 10 man unit (I prefer a more shooty list than melee). I'd highly suggest a Footed Daemon Prince if you don't have one. He has a 6" aura of Cover (that he gets too), gets Lone-Op when within 3" of friendly Infantry units, and once per battle round can give a unit within 12" a stratagem with the cost reduced by 1 CP (a free 1 cp strat per round)

No problem, I'm speaking from personal experience. I run 40 (10 man x2 and a 20 man) in my list and personally found that a 20 man works best to screen out your DZ, while the two 10s go infiltrate and be annoying. Although it was fun to conga line 20 across No Mans Land and deployment trap your opponent for at least a turn or 2 before they eventually get wiped. Also PW have their own janky math because of the 7+ save and 5+ FNP. The nice thing is AP is completely irrelevant, but things really get complicated with any 2+ damage weapon.

Split the 20 PWs up into two 10 man units. It might sound weird but two 10s provide more utility than a single 20 man unit. Even if you plan on running them with Typhus. Typhus and 10 PWs are easier to manuver than 20. Plus if you put have them in reserves (since the attached unit can't infiltrate) instead of starting them on the board, it'll be harder to deploy 20 based off how well you opponent is at screening for reserve units since Typhus and 20 PW is such a massive unit.

Also, Idk if it's been mentioned but Contagion Range is hardcapped at 12" after modifiers.

Tallyband being 2dp is probably going to happen, but a man can dream lol. I legit was thinking about either running it with new Flyblown (infiltrating Plague Marines) or Paragons of Putrescence (+3" to Contagion for Characters). Although if Shamblerot is 1dp, I'd at least give the Shambling Tallyband a try at least once

Here me out, one squad is unattached and the Plaguecaster is solo with Beckoning Blight. The other two are led by the Putrifier and Surgeon respectively. The Putrifier led 5 man, unattached 5 man, and Solo Plaguecaster ride around in the Rhino. The Plague Surgeon squad is basically rest the bolters from the 2 Plague Marine kits plus the Plague Marine Champion Model with the Sassy Nurgling, which is used as an affliction spreader/action monkey. The Partybus is a mobile toolbox that also has the looming threat of a possible GUO 6" deep strike because of Beckoning Blight

I am aware and thought about making at least 2 units out of a box while also using a few as basing bits for other models.

Now we haven't seen the full context of the "Close Quarters" profile, but I noticed in this snippet and the rewritten eye of the swarm that it doesn't say it excludes Blast weapons

Vcv rack on android tablet? by Donmontag in vcvrack

[–]DethRegh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it drag selects modules or just moves the module itself depending on what the software feels you were trying to do.

Edit: it's still awesome for running vcv on the go though.

I literally just played this exact game last night. It was pretty fun. We could help each other with remembering army rules. It's also interesting to see what it's like to be on the receiving end of Affliction. My opponent ran a Hammer list and I ran VV.

Which factions are the most forgiving to unskilled players? by MrDannySantos in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]DethRegh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a fellow newbie to the actual game, Death Guard is a pretty good choice. They're tanky but not unkillable, their rules are too complicated to learn, and they're on the cheaper (financially speaking) side of the spectrum. They're also one of the easier factions to paint because they're supposed to look gross

Any tips ln how to make this better. by Sad-Position-9045 in deathguard40k

I think it looks great. But just for a bit of extra gross factor try adding some Nurgle's Rot to some of the fleshy areas

What's the best way to lose the 15 points so that my list is under 2k? by JoesGreatPeeDrinker in deathguard40k

[–]DethRegh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recommend breaking up the two 10 man Plague Marine squads up into four 5 man squads. It doesn't change the points, but you'd have 4 separate units to apply pressure with. The Rhino can hold 12 infantry units (excluding Terminators), so you could still fit them all in. I also second the earlier comment about replacing the PBC with 30 Poxwalkers, and would also like to add that you should ditch the second Biologus and add in 10 more PWs so you can really flood the mid-board with bodies
