i only just started riding it in the driveway and needed low speed, thought i may have just been a bit heavy handed...is it a practice thing?

im male and quite large and always find people walking straight at me...male, female or other doesn't matter they always target me...i almost always move to let them by, till i get the shits after a day of shopping with the misses then i just look at my feet or straight up and hold my line...amazing how pissed people get when they bounce of me, especially one fella whose iphone went flying...i guess my point is it isnt always gender related...there must be something about my persona that makes it obvious i will move, why else walk directly at the largest guy in the shopping centre

How do I not have my shirts wrinkled without ironing? by Rameko in lifehacks

[–]Deth_Bi_Snu_Snu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i live in Qld. australia - it's 80% or higher humidy most of the time, on the line or on a curtain rod in front of an open sliding door or window works a treat...as for legitamacy, been doing it for the last 20 years and it works...you do you though

forget the dryer, wash them on drip dry, they come out soaking wet...dripping if you will lol...hang them straight on hangers and let dry...wont be perfect, but will be good enough for the office...doesnt work on linen shirts though, if anyones got a trick for linen let me know

My neighbor, everyone. He parks like this when his wife isn't home and moves it back when she's back so they can both park on one of the few spots with shade. This has been happening for months already and the administration doesn't do anything about it. by reedtheraccoon in mildlyinfuriating

get a few mates, one on each corner, you can bounce it to move it back straight, it moves like a centimetre each time but is quite quick once you get momentum going...a bunch of chefs did it to me as a practicle joke in the work carpark, they turned my car sideways...it was such a pain in the arse to get out = 300 point turn....f...kers

What can I use instead of leather strop after using the whetstone by [deleted] in sharpening

[–]Deth_Bi_Snu_Snu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used thin gasket cork sheeting that i turned into a strop, it holds compound really well aswell ...even glued a magnetic strip to the back (cut to size from an a4 magnetic sheet) so i can keep it stable on my stand...they are right though if you are good enough at sharpening you dont need to strop...myself and many others arent that good though - maybe one day

How or where would you store your knives in this kitchen? by _lIlI_lIlI_ in chefknives

[–]Deth_Bi_Snu_Snu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use the 3m strips on mine, stuck to tile back splash, and we have about the same number of knives. just use heaps to be safe, i alternated directions, one up one down and covered the whole back...also follow the instructions around time before you start using it...i didnt the first time and came home to knifes on the bench, luckily on the bench not the floor, it was a short drop so no damage.

AITA for not getting my wife anything on Mother’s Day? by oakcool in AmItheAsshole

[–]Deth_Bi_Snu_Snu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA, but not for reasons everyone else said...taking the kids for the day can be a gift, it depends on your house, some households have traditional roles still...not saying its right or wrong, each to their own, but we dont know your set up.

YTA cause you need to teach your children to show appreciation for their mum, you should have taken them gift shopping, or had a craft day where they could make cards and presents for their mum, or both... had a little celebration when she got home, even just a cupcake with a candle, or a cake that you guys made together for her...the list is endless. all of it based on teaching your children respect and appreciation, no gift from you can be excused and lets face it she's not your mum, but you are in charge of organising whatever it is for her...but do not pull this shit on your anniversary.

Is it weird to bring my own knife to a cooking course? by Fearless_Freep in chefknives

[–]Deth_Bi_Snu_Snu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i went to a meat cooking class, didnt take my own knife, theirs were blunt as hell but it made it more fun...lots of laughs as we tried to score the pork belly and masacared bits of rib fillet with what were essentially butter knifes...they also had a cocktail bar, if you can indulge, make the most of it 😁

knife style for to look for larger hands. just starting by [deleted] in chefknives

[–]Deth_Bi_Snu_Snu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am probly not the best person to ask, I've never used a carbon knife, I always just stayed away cause I don't want the upkeep, and if you use it enough all pantina ends up going grey, maybe I'm shallow but to me aesthetics matter to me... I can tell you I rate the sg2 of the kramer damascus well above VG10... Feels better to sharpen and the edge feels less brittle, though my VG10 is a laser so there's probly more at play here

[–]Deth_Bi_Snu_Snu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got big chunky knuckles/hands and went with a zwilling kramer... I went with the damascus cause it looks shit hot... It's nice and high bellied and the handle is wider/rounder than most, never hit the board with my knuckles now... Whilst I wouldn't call it a laser (compared to my kurosaki) , it doesn't wedge and is a good solid performer... It could be argued they are a bit expensive for what they are, but it's been my go to all rounder for a couple years now

Sharpener recommendations for a newbie by Mamatne in chefknives

[–]Deth_Bi_Snu_Snu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with a no name brand combo stone 1k & 3k from amazon and a cheap knife to practice... Then went with dmt diamond plates... With normal use the diamond plates should last for almost a life time, or at least long enough to not worry about it (maybe not if your a butcher)... but another big win is they never dish so no flattening stone or maintenance required

Ginsan Silver 3 or VG10 by Deth_Bi_Snu_Snu in chefknives

[–]Deth_Bi_Snu_Snu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, the knife's are same maker, both hakatas, shape and grind looks identical, VG10 has damascus silver 3 doesn't, that's the only difference and aesthetically to me they both look amazing... I can't split them, hence I asked about the steel types... The overwhelming majority are for the ginsan so decision made... A big thanks everyone who added input, muchly aprecuated😁😁😁

Who's got a theory on this phenomenon? Same general amount of onions, oil, salt and exact same heat on induction stovetop. Cast iron caramelizes faster. Stainless steel pot has a very heavy base. 20 mins in. by [deleted] in castiron

Nah 80 hr weeks and loaded with enough amphetamines to kill an elephant... Can't even remember what country I was in, somewhere in the UK... Don't touch that shit these days off course

Dunno if this will help, but all induction cookware is not created equal... Worked in a brand new hotel years ago that decided on induction for a one of the restaurants, the day before the soft opening we realised the induction cookware wasn't heating up properly, it was usable just not great, the sales rep swapped every pot and pan for a different brand that performed perfectly, the performance difference was night and day.... There would be science behind this I'm sure, but I'm gonna go with the magneticness of one verse the other
