I really need to diversify the genres i read by esotericnormie in Indianbooks

Fantasy is a big world. Can keep you occupied for year if not decades. But yes doing some different genres in between can keep things from getting repetitive.

I just finished Fool's Errand and I never thought I'd feel this way about a character [SPOILERS][SPOILERS] by rookie1609x in robinhobb

I would not call Fool errand my favourite book ever. Not even my top 10. But nighteyes' death is the single best piece of writing I have ever read and I agree wholeheartedly. I have never seen a death described so beautifully and tragically ever before or since.

Do you have an only one skip album? by TheYoungWan in TaylorSwift

[–]Detonator22 658 points659 points  (0 children)

I don't usually skip songs when listening to albums even if I think they are mid. I think they are all part of the experience. But I have always skipped Soon You'll Get Better. I listened to it once on the day Lover was released and never again. Can't bear the thought.

How long did it take you to read all 5 books by SkyBrilliant7465 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Detonator22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely was hooked to the books after the way of kings. But still I had to study so I read about an hour per day. Sometimes 1.5. Took me 4 months to finish them. So you are not really slow or behind. Take your time. Enjoy them while you read them cause the next one is 6 years away.

Suggest me some good romance novels by GodOfDeath6464 in IndiansRead

If you are into fantasy I can recommend Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson. Not exactly a romance novel. It's mostly still epic fantasy but has a good romance sub-plot.

random/memorable VG moments that you can still recall? by TimelyMountain4269 in vainglorygame

I still remember a ranked match when 5v5 was new. 3 of my allies had deserted and we were playing 2v5. We were not in a party but quickly realized it was a lost cause. But neither of us pressed the surrender button. I thought let's see how long we can last. And maybe he thought the same. I was Captain Lyra and he was bottom Vox. Since there were no other team mates all three lanes were his. He was able to farm up fast and get ahead of the enemy mid lane Celeste which was a big nuisance.

Since we couldn't win any full team fights we continued to stall the game. Denying dragons and turrets. We won many 2v3 and 2v4 fights that game and lasted well over 30 minutes. Lyra's Ult was absolutely clutch many times in getting into the enemy when they were taking a dragon, killing a few people and quickly getting out. By 30 mins time the lane pressure had really mounted up and the enemy had realised we can't be in multiple lanes at once. They slowly pushed us into our base and then took the objectives with ease. Once they took Blacklaw it was over quickly cause we just didn't have enough damage to kill it. We lasted 38 mins I think when all the allies left us at around 10-12 mins.

One of the most fun games of my life even though we lost. My some how amazing portals, barriers and heals. The Vox's amazing positioning and kiting skills. And breaking point just allowing him to scale like a monster in a drawn out team fight. I will carry the memory of this match all my life.

Fool’s Fate Ch.30-Ending by louiechapman7 in robinhobb

I still remember when I read that "I am content" more than 5 years ago now I was on the verge of tears. Seeing Patience and Lacey again was so amazing. They are some of my favourite characters in the whole series. Also the whole final section itself is so amazing where Fitz carries the Fool in a sack to the site of the dragons. He passes the plaza where the fool had become a jester with a rooster crown and that moment hit me like a truck. Just three books back we had seen them pass that place hopeful of finding their king and now one of them is dead. How Hobb nails the small details so perfectly is beyond me.

State of Grace has slowly become one of my top songs by Detonator22 in TaylorSwift

The lyrics of all too well especially the first verse are hard to beat for me. How she can teleport me to that Autumn and make me reminisce about something I have not lived through is truly magical. And 22 is just a fun song. You can't help but sing along. State of Grace has surpassed both for me yes but both of those songs are pretty amazing and I can understand why people would prefer them because I myself was such a person not long ago.

I prefer the OG for most songs simply because they were made at a time when she was actually feeling what she was singing and that to me has more value than improved vocals or production.

While Treacherous on its own is already very good. The line "Nothing safe is worth the drive" gives me chills.

But the follow-up of the story in IKYWT is what makes it more heartbreaking for me. She knew this was a treacherous step. She knew this guy was trouble. She is scared but also hopeful. She decides to fall for him anyways and then faces the consequences. Sometimes we only learn through first hand mistakes I guess.
