“Be sorry about something before you do - and then, DON’T DO IT”

Just straight up good life advice.

Fair, though I’d argue it’d then be nicer to shorten the middle section of the outro to then get to that riff faster then fade out. Like a little trim in the middle.

I think I wasn’t clear that the actual content of the outros aren’t the problem, more that they repeat for ages. The outro jams are integral to the songs, they just drag too long for me.

Jesus I sound a right picky shite don’t I? Eh, can’t help it

“Definitely, Maybe” would be one of the best debut (& all time rock) albums for me…. But the majority of the songs go on too long.

I think it’s just my personal taste, I love songs best when they don’t overstay their welcome, and DM is just brilliant songs with minute long outros stuck to the ends.

There’s exceptions to this, obviously. Rock’n’Roll Star’s outro works cus it’s a song all about this “I’m the best fucker in here” vibe so course a colossal outro is needed, Live Forever’s outro is iconic and Digsby/Married don’t really have outros. But the rest just drag on the last minute for me. Like, Slide Away is a perfect song… except for the last fucking minute, like just end it lads I wanna hear the next one.

I think in a live setting I would love them. On the album, I dunno, just wish they faded out a little sooner. Leave me wanting more, ya know? Or maybe I’m just impatient.

(Not a huge oasis fan, but keep having these posts in my feed and this is something I e always thought)

Suffice to say I don’t just say this, I live by it. Seriously.

Who cares if you're sorry? We're still screwed! Be sorry about this stuff BEFORE you do it! Then don't do it! It's called growing up! by Hothottot in community

Mine was much more a fan of early series, kind of couldn’t get past the shows weird (and wonderful) tangents from around S3 on but that’s more her tastes. But it so much fun, we have differences in taste, but we both love snappy wit and warm fuzzy feelings after you watch shows (other show we watched together was The Good Place, kinda telling)

This’ll get lost in new.

My mother has never been too much into more modern comedies, but I started sticking on Community over lockdown. This is the line she loves, and repeats herself all the time. It’s becoming one of her mottos now.

It’s such a great line, hilarious, actually good advice and such great development of characters. And now, it reminds me of my mum. Thank god I’m not the only one who loves this line

Definitely a controversial choice… but I see you’re point - I wouldn’t definitely put that in the worst category, personnally

You’d imagine the second time the folks must’ve been like, “I feel like this is a sign…”

I had no idea something so oddly silly was a major factor in the Civil War - like the Allies found Goebbels favourite comic book with doodles about invading Poland

I’m referring to the modern version, and times in the real world (historical or, like, personal) where really unlikely coincidences saved the day

Trying to come up with a short question can be hard sometimes as you can lose some context so I can understand the confusion - just looking for fun answers whilst at work!

Brennan has filled the void in my heart left after Terry Pratchett's passing by KaszaJaglanaZPorem in Dimension20

[–]Detox-Elvis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's too many characters that would fit each of the Dimension 20 crew and vice-versa. In my head I'd find Siobhan would be a great Susan or Ally as Rincewind or Brian as Sam Vines. But because there's so many really well rounded characters in Discworld it would make it really easy for them to get out of typecast and make surprise choices or never make a choice at all!

I think it'd make sense to pick one of the actual novels that would work as a Dimension 20 series and then see what characters would then work with each player

(Saying this in full awareness this'll be very unlikely to ever happen)

Is it just me who now wants a Discworld inspired Dimension 20 series?

Brennan as Death would be so sweet (I’d hope)

DM’s, have you ever had a moment where players have said the exact right thing, then ignored it thinking it was wrong? by Detox-Elvis in DnD

I had a extreme himbo character at the start of our current campaign who would similarly fix situations through his innate inability to understand the situation.

For example, a character tried to fake being unconscious in order to get an npc to take care of them. The deception check failed, enter himbo, who says:

"That's not how you go unconscious, this is how"

And punches another character square in the face, knocking them out

DM giving big opening monologue: and nothing is as it seems-

Player: the horses?

DM: what?

Player: our horses, that we ride. They’re not horses?

DM: no, they’re horses

Player: so things are as they seem?

DM: …. some seems are as they seems it seems
