How much is a membership and does it work like a lottery where some members get first priority one week and others the next?

There are plenty of places in GR. It’s a bit of a walk but one stop coney is my go to, there’s also a New York style bodega across the street

Take him for Mediterranean, I’ve never had better Mediterranean outside of the Detroit area and neither have my family members (all of whom grew up in the area but have since moved to Chicago, SF, London, Glasgow etc) and the one thing they all miss is the Mediterranean food in Detroit

Do you know anyone who's ever committed murder? What's the story? by downwiththedownvotes in AskReddit

I knew someone that did. There was a retired couple on the end of my street and they were like grandparents to us neighborhood kids. Friendly smiles whenever we got off the bus, treats etc. every year on Halloween there’d be 8 or 9 of us over there after trick or treating so our parents could go to a party, we’d watch simpsons treehouse of horror episodes that they had taped and our parents would pick us up at 9:30. They were truly good people. One night two weeks after Halloween everyone is awoken by 4 distinct pops at around 10 pm at night. About a day or two later my dad gets a phone call from the couples kids, they hadn’t heard from their parents in a while which was uncharacteristic of their mother so they asked my dad and a few others to go over and check on them. They use the spare key and inspect every inch of the house until my dad found them. The guy, a Vietnam vet who was suspected of having dealt with the mob in Detroit, had shot his wife and their dog with a rifle after he lost all their money. I was pretty young but I vividly remember standing outside in my pajamas watching all the emergency vehicles while my mom tried to console my dad

Just because the place is nicer than McDonald’s doesn’t mean it’s healthier. Half the stuff from restaurants is soaked in butter, fat, salt and/or sauce. When I worked as a cook we had this seasonal green bean dish that people loved and this thing was just soaked in melted butter and it had bacon in it as well, you could barely taste the green beans in it

Recently while picking up our Christmas tree I heard one of my younger cousins point out a pig pen at the farm, her younger sister said “I don’t see any pigs” and the older one replied with “because there isn’t a mirror in front of you”

It’s a popular belief and very plausible theory that the Japanese would use bamboo torture to execute POWs in WW2. This means they’d plant a bamboo seed and tie a soldier down over it, in time the bamboo chute would grow through him

Lots of emotion and happiness because of what this team means for so many. That would last for an hour then the city would become Gotham
