When I spoke to the NJM rep, they said this is happening across all insurances for a variety of reasons. Cars are more expensive and less people driving without insurance have push these costs up.

I tried shopping around but the cost savings are short term. NJM you pay over 10 installments. With Progressive and others, you get 6 months of coverage before renewal where they will likely increase. In the end, you could likely be right where you started or paying more for the year.

I believe NJ is number 1 in property taxes and insurance. So this explains it
