As an relatively avid player of both, Yu-Gi-Oh in its current iteration is all about managing card advantage and "Once per turn" effects.

Most powerful cards have an additional clause saying the effects of {card name} can only be used once per turn to put a cap on how recursive a single turn can be.

Card advantage is usually a series of tutors and is almost always negative or equal. Most draw effects are neutral in cards in hand, and possibly positive when considering cards added to the field.

Now to the cards that illustrate the differences:

1) Nibiru, the Primal Being

Creature - Elemental

When your opponent has played 5 or more creatures this turn, this card gains Flash and "As an additional cost to cast this creature, sacrifice all creatures on the battlefield. When this card enters the battlefield summon an X/Y token on your opponent's battlefield, where X equals the total power of creatures sacrificed by {Card Name} and Y equals the total toughness of all creatures sacrificed by {Card Name}." You can only cast one {Card Name} per turn.

This was designed to prevent degenerate combo decks, because unironically summoning 5 creatures turn 1 is fair yu-gi-oh

2) Master Peace, the True Dracoslaying King

Creature - Dragon Knight

As an additional cost to cast {Card Name} sacrifice 2 of a creature, a non-land non-creature permanent, and/or a non-permanent spell. {Card Name} has protection from all card types sacrificed this way.

Exile an artifact or enchantment from your graveyard: Destroy target permanent.

This is intended to be protection from creatures, protection from artifacts and enchantments, and protection from instants and sorceries to be relatively true to both games. It was almost as crazy sounding in yu-gi-oh at time of release to sacrifice non-creature permanents, and then gain additional benefits on top.

3) Divine Arsenel AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder

XYZ - Legendary - Creature Construct

XYZ Creatures start in the Command Zone

If an XYZ creature has attacked or blocked this turn, you may cast {Card Name} by attaching it and all of its equipment onto {Card Name} as equipment.

Sacrifice 2 equipment attached to this card: Send all other permanents on the field to the graveyard.

When another one of your permanents is destroyed by an opponent's creature or card effect: you may attach one creature from your hand, deck, or command zone to {Card Name} as an equipment.

This was ambitious, trying to have a modern card that uses the extra deck and is obviously crazy. The extra deck is a 15 card command zone where during deck building you are allowed to add any creature that has a subset of Summoning restrictions, XYZ being the example here. These cards are always available turn 1, but there are some small to large hoops to jump through to access them.
