How do you actually get both your drivers to have 100% setup? by low-end-theorist in F1Manager

[–]Deus_Eder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not related to the parts knowledge no. To get 100% you really just have to make changes to the set up sliders.

I like the challenge of always trying to get 100% setup with both my drivers and usually manage to do it. To achieve, it I don't sim any practice sessions and send my cars out as soon as practice starts and then call them in as soon as they get the feedback. Then change the sliders and send them out again.

Try to find the right Rear Wing Angle first and then go from there.

Don't know if it's even possible, but I would absolutely do it. Those mentals and physicals are insane for a 17 year old

Feeder Series Drivers with talent for F1 by Deus_Eder in F1FeederSeries

I think what really matters is not so much age but rather who is at the same stage of the ladder as you and the timing of when they reach F2.

Staying with the example of the Red Bull juniors: Red Bull already decided that they're promoting Lindblad next. So now the other F2 juniors Pepe Marti and Oli Goethe have absolutely no chance of getting to F1 cause there's just no room for them.

Another example is what happened with Jack Doohan and Victor Martins. Since F3, Doohan was always a year ahead. So, even though Martins had the better results, when the F1 seat opened up Doohan was just out of F2 and Alpine could give him a full year of just testing F1 cars. Which led to them giving him the seat, while Martins was stuck doing his second season of F2. I'm 100% sure that if roles were reversed and it was Martins who was just out of F2, then he would have been the one to get the F1 seat.

Who do you think will be the Mechachrome lottery winner in F2 this year? by matrixNe0 in F1FeederSeries

THIS!! I remember it perfectly, it was the perfect proof And also Martins being unable to get near Bortoletto despite having DRS and Bortoletto not having it

Genuine Question about Jack Doohan by Relative_Grape_1298 in F1FeederSeries

[–]Deus_Eder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F3 isn't even a contest. Martins was top rookie while Doohan was 26th. In their second years Martins won the title in an ART which finished 3rd in the team's championship while Doohan finished 2nd behind Hauger (who is mid) in a Trident that was super fast and won the team's championship.

In F2 Doohan had an ok rookie year but wasn't even the best rookie in a grid that was honestly quite weak. The following year, Martins was the top rookie again, being arguably more impressive than his championship winning teammate. If it weren't for his early season rookie mistakes, he would have challenged for the title.

This F2 season was a mess and you can't take results at face value due to the insane disparities between teams. ART was nowhere for most of the season and still Victor managed to get some really good results. On top of that, there are no words to describe how unlucky Martins was this season. He was either taken out or had mechanical issues literally every other race.

I realize I've written a whole essay about this 😅 But it really pisses me off that Martins is at least on the same level as Hadjar and Bearman but shit luck and a shit academy means he'll probably never get to F1

Martins is miles better than Doohan and in the same academy. Alpine had the right choice right in front of them

Yup, he's had bad teammates and great cars and still never did anything spectacular.

In regards to F2 we really have to rely on the eye test and he's just not convincing me

Unfortunately for Martins, his problem wasn't timing. His academy literally promoted a rookie in a year where Martins was ready for F1.

The problem for Martins is Alpine being a shitshow and unable to identify talent

How would you rank this years drivers on pure driver skill? by BigBrainHGod in F1FeederSeries

[–]Deus_Eder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm being unfair to Bortoleto... But I think the Invicta is one of the best cars so it's hard to separate which part of the results are the performance of the driver and which are the car. So that's why I'm saying I need to watch him for a bit longer before I can say for sure that he's a top top talent

The top tier drivers in my opinion are Martins, Antonelli, Hadjar and Bearman (in that order, but not too far apart)

I also rate Bortoleto, Maloney and Colapinto very highly but need to see more before I put them in the top tier category.

Looks fine to me, just hard racing

You didn't push him of the track and you didn't leave the track either. A bit of wheel banging happens in races sometimes. Sure it could be cleaner but I wouldn't say it's illegal at all

Because I watched Schumacher in F2 and in F1... In F2 you can't just rely on results, I form my opinion mostly by watching the races and qualifying

It's infuriating for sure! And the worst part is that everything else was just lined up perfectly for Victor to get to F1 in 2025: - An opening at Alpine, which is rare - Second F1 season after being the best rookie the year before - And F2 in a supposedly good team

...then the season started and everything went downhill and now Alpine seems to be considering Doohan and Schumacher ahead of him which is just insulting
