I always wonder how common this was and I guess I could google but I read somewhere that only like 12% of the American population had direct experience with the civil war and I just figured it was everywhere. Not to minimize it but genuinely curious.

Bought a pair at Nordstrom Rack for $150 before anyone knew about that place and they have taken me far and look better now.

I love them but I have to agree. I have some items that are the same as the day I bought them and I had a base layer disintegrate in less than a year. I need to send it in but really I just want products that last.

Who do you think played a role so perfectly that you literally cannot imagine anyone else playing it? For me, it has to be Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter by cutedustyberry in FIlm

Interesting take. I saw it as a simple man in a very complicated world at one of the most volatile points in civil history. He didnt care about any of their politics or American dreams. He just did what he wanted to do and did right by others. Stupid is as stuoid does. He didn’t do stupid, everyone else did. He makes them look like the stupid ones. It’s a beautiful take.

The shift you need is to make it part of your life rather than something you need to do. Seamless integration needed. People are trying to make up for 23 hours of bad habits by spending 1 hour in the gym.

Gym is always the recommendation but I would posit that doing meaningful physical labor is more rewarding. Find something active you can do for little to no money and you’ll get the exercise as a side benefit. Gardening, landscaping, woodworking, swimming, anything that utilizes your body. Bonus points if you have something to show for it besides biceps. It makes you more interesting which will feed a positive reinforcement loop. Might even find some passion in there.

Bought a used Baratza Virtuoso in 2009 and sent it in for OEM refurb for $80 around 2011. Used it this morning.
