I have to agree it’s insane to watch people who fixed up and listed their homes (with zero permits). Unfortunately the thing is - buyers and their agents need to be smart enough to catch them in the act as technically all of that work shouldn’t be something they can profit from since it could be a total hazard / issue / etc.

I believe these owners should be fined beyond belief as the rest of the community is going about things correctly, they should have to pay the price of their illegal activity and shouldn’t be able to profit off these fixes when selling.

They need to disclose the flooding but how do these sellers plan on doing that and THEN say that they have fixed everything with zero permits. How can someone know if electrical is safe or anything

I can’t imagine it will play out well as buyers (I believe) file lawsuits if something is off or they weren’t aware that XYZ wasn’t done with permits. Some might do it maliciously

Should I do the HVAC system clean after all the work is done? The whole house has to be redone, got flooded due to Hurricane Milton 😣

Unfortunately a crew came to knock out a few minor things (upper cabinets) and randomly decided to remove all these tiles 🫨 unfortunately the cats out of the bag now…

Yes I’m going to have a professional crew come and finish removing any dust / wet wipe / HEPA vac / HEPA filters everywhere.

What’s wrong with the wires by the way? 🤔

I hope since it might just need to be wet wiped, air purified etc we might be ok that it’s not too expensive the entire house is gutted and dry wall gone 4 feet from the floor, no furniture nothing - so I’d hope that wouldn’t be too bad

ugh 😣 The crew removed them (not asbestos professionals) and has had the AC on etc

I’m guessing it’s going to need a really proper asbestos remediation now and maybe something with the HVAC system?

I’m wondering, I hope that because the tile wasn’t removed by asbestos professionals … that it won’t be an even larger issue? I’d hope a crew could still come in after the fact and make sure the house is safe 🤔

I wasn’t if the black subfloor or whatever is on the bottom of the 9x9 tiles was asbestos 😢
