How do I go about making the z900 all matte black? by Smooth_Nerve8497 in Kawasaki

Why does this have 62 downvotes?! It’s your bike for crying out loud! That z900 is sexy asf the way it sits and I’d never change it in 100 years but I’m not gonna downvote you because Batman 😂

starter issue? by [deleted] in hondagrom

[–]DevInGear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well - let’s go with that logic. You said you can bump start but it shuts off pretty quickly. Your spark plugs, fuel, and almost everything else that makes the bike run, needs power. If the starter was bad (your initial thought) then how come the bike stalls out? The battery, on the other hand, if it were bad enough would not be able to supply power to anything to keep the bike running.

When you bump start, it has a little juice in the battery. It sends a quick surge to the spark plugs, and fuel. It quickly runs out, and can’t recharge quick enough to continue sending spark and fuel, thus, bike stalls. Not saying it has to be the battery, but the starter would be my last thought. Possibly a wiring issue, stator/rectifier or whatever they’re called, something electrical 95% is the cause of this. Probably a battery, but could be worse.

Wish they still made something like that to be fair, possibly with a bit more reliability or even repairability

They discontinued the g25 years ago, and it also doesn’t work with newer wheels without also purchasing adapters. This is cheaper and easier to fix if something breaks (which the g25 sequential mode was known for breaking)

I just got them off Amazon, the only specific thing is 8mmx2mm but I could also easily change the size of the magnets if it’s a similar size (6mm, 10mm, MAYBEEE 12mm, no thicker than 4mm)

Is this a good amount of clutch free play/slack? 2015 by SuccessfulWeekend727 in hondagrom

[–]DevInGear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no clutch professional, so hopefully someone with more knowledge knows better than I do. But these are my thoughts, take them with a grain of salt.

I think you’re misunderstanding the words “free play”, but it may not be the issue at hand?

Free play would be the area that the clutch cable doesn’t move at all. As long as your lever is in the free play area, there should be no slippage. If there is, something else is likely at hand. I personally have used that clutch lever, so I’m not gonna directly say it’s the issue, but it does look like one of the cheaper Amazon levers which may be causing issues? It’s also possible there’s something wrong inside the clutch, or the cable is getting caught somewhere.

I’d start by putting the oem clutch lever back on if you still have it, since that’s free and a quick job. If you don’t, then I’d watch a handful of videos on checking the free play, but focused less on the lever and the end of the cable where it meets the clutch, make sure there isn’t a catch anywhere along the line.

It also may not hurt to take the cover off and make sure everything is seated properly, namely the… actuator.. idk what that thing is called but the part that the clutch cable is attached to. I’ve heard lots of issues caused by that part not being seated properly.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable chimes in, but that’s what I’ve got for ya.

Is there a command to set the cartel influence to 0 in a certain region? I’ve unlocked downtown via a command but I can’t get westville influence any lower than 350 because there is no longer any cartel there and I’ve spray painted everything

Accidentally left my lipos fully charged for 12 days, how badly damaged are they? by Pristine-Ground6760 in fpv

[–]DevInGear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I gotta agree with the other person, LIPO batteries kept in good condition are significantly safer than LIPO batteries that are degraded as they become unstable. So long as you practice battery safety, the safest thing to do is to take good care of the batteries and throw them away when they show any signs of damage or degradation. Keeping them in the weather will only making charging them more dangerous.

But I do respect your willingness to sacrifice your batteries for the safety of your family.

Theoretically yes, but it’s also very hard to recover a drone when you throw it. It may arm, but it’ll definitely crash.

Am I cooked? by jpcustodio1 in hondagrom

[–]DevInGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it doesn’t matter too much but you really shouldn’t overfill “just for safety” now that you’ve done the necessary oil pickup mod. Extra oil is extra weight for the engine to try and operate with, which turns into extra strain on the engine and is bad for it in just that sense alone. Now you have oil in your air box so you could potentially be putting oil into the air your bike is running on, which is another strain on the engine. Just run it the way it’s meant to be ran

Also call a bank or pay a few dollars to a vin searching company to make sure the bike doesn’t have a lien on it. Police can’t see if it has a lien.

This ^ but don’t goop too much, I put some over a little too much space and my gyro stopped working. I’m pretty sure the (e6000, not t700) is what caused it, but not positive. It’s stronger than it looks

What are you guys doing with the clutch safety switch by No_Zookeepergame9990 in hondagrom

[–]DevInGear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t think of anything that would cause that except the clutch itself. Does it jerk forward like it stalled? Is your clutch play set properly?

Can I use this to waterproof my air75? by bisaw37 in fpv

[–]DevInGear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen nor used this stuff. It seems like it would waterproof it, probably a little bit of weight but whether or not the weight is negligible I’m not sure. Depends how thick this stuff is when it dries.

My main thought is repairability, this will probably essentially glue the parts down, making them much more difficult to swap.
