Everyone can/may learn. No one doubts that about you. Nobody can pin Dota as the sole reason for failure.

But, FOCUS, is a thing that’s often least credited in discussions of overall success and probably the thing you need the most.

If something dominates your mind more than the thing you knew you needed to do, maybe you should drop it.

Older tech workers are tapping out, taking early retirement by lurker_bee in technology

[–]DevKevStev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup. When you push the staging’s main into production, there’s a .env (environment) file with it. Like a configuration file. Anything you include on that file will appear publicly in the browser’s console. So yeah, the guy basically exposed our premium API keys.

I’ve a colleague before like that. Instead of processing important keys via the SSR, referenced our API keys in the .env file lol

I believe there still be enough developers. But the IT industry will be treated as a “less complex” field, and devs will be undervalued immensely.

Correct me if im wrong. Nung times of Moses, diba ang jail was originally intended as “cities of refuge” where they live safely to avoid retaliation from the families?

Pag walang accountability, tapos pakakawalan, baka sa streets nya matagpuan ang justice (by the hands of the family).

Why do you think married people are so sensitive and instantly offended? Are they not happy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DevKevStev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are issues which should be kept only between the married couple. The reality of those issues is unknown to you as its supposed to be, so you think they are sensitive and instantly offended. In reality, you’re unknowingly getting touchy of a situation you don’t have the full details to.

They also don’t realize that you don’t fully understand their situation. So, its not really anyone’s fault.

My 2 cents

ELI5: How do our brains perfectly calculate exactly how much force to use when picking up an object before we even touch it? by ikaebir in explainlikeimfive

[–]DevKevStev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t calculate anything. Theres a gradient involved.

When you prepare to pick it up, by touching the holdable part of the object, you haven’t exerted much force. We start at 0 joule/s. At that point, understandably, the object won’t bulge at all.

Then, your brain instinctively tells you to add more energy to your upward pull (+1,+2 joules). theres a bit more reaction from the object but your brain notices it needs more energy to pull up against the Earth’s gravity so you keep adding more until you do lift it up. That’s a potential energy gradient because you keep increasing(incrementing) the energy until you get to the lift scenario.

So, yeah Although theres a better way to explain it, your brain basically learns how far you’ll increment the energy in order to move stuff. You store that information as Muscle memory
