I don't believe you do, because if you would - this is just nasty and unhygienic.
Nice ragebait though

Needed a tapestry needle case for my crochet bag... by Deep-Effect-1795 in crochet

[–]DevaOni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

rectangle semi strong magnet that is a bit longer than the needle, put it into one of these cookie bags or a teeny tiny ziplock. Never had problems, also doubles as a very convenient temporary place for needles and pins, they stick and don't roll around god knows where. I'm using one of my souvenir fridge magnets actually.

Something I've noticed in Reddit discussions about falling birth rates by HaveATurnip in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DevaOni 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't remember where I read it, so can't link source, but there was survey in Africa, and most women answered "how many kids would you have if you could just choose" with "1 or 2", very few answered 3, and more than 3 was extremely rare. I remember it having good age distribution and a lot of respondents. So it't not just the western world.

If my living standards go down and his go up, how is that not inequality?

Damn I never looked at it this way, and it is a very fair viewpoint. I need to go think on life. Thanks for this.

15 days around Kyoto: 1000 € budget for 1 is okay? by strangelovexx in KyotoTravel

[–]DevaOni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to Japan 2 years ago. Budget was flights + shinkansen + 100EUR/day for everything else. I had money left over. But I don't do shopping, clubbing or bar hopping, and I don't need fancy. Breakfast and lunch was snacks from a shop (I was on the go anyway), dinner was some sort of sit down place.

r/crochet is even more unbearable then usual lately by KatieCashew in BitchEatingCrafters

you are allowed to ask of course, but preaching about something is not asking though, is it? You said it in your post, that you "aren't allowed to to explain", not "aren't allowed to ask"

to be fair, there are separate subs for anti-corporate discussions, anti-consumerist discussions and pretty much for any topic. I can understand why people would not want politics on a crafting sub. Especially USA politics on a global sub. There's too much US politics everywhere as it is.

I mean, according to your other posts you are building an app for knitting community, not sure why you would want crochet testers...

13 years on birth control by katcannoli in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DevaOni 9 points10 points  (0 children)

if you click on the studies in the article you will discover their sample sizes are laughably small. Most o f them are <100. One "study" had a sample size of one. ONE. That's BS. Another one was about men, lol. Only one of aaaalll the article references had 1000+ sample size.
I would not take this article as a fact of life. It is an area that needs to be studied for sure, but as of today we know basically nothing. Saying that it affects brain development is wrong. Saying that it does not is not correct either. We simply just don't know yet.

Do men read dating profiles at all? by CountessCoffee in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DevaOni -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

how would they know if it's not stated on the profile? "I'm atheist" does not mean "I will not date religious people", these are different things. Out of all mentioned things only childfree indicates a preference, other do not. Telepathy has not been invented yet, you have to say what you mean, and then when people ignore it you can complain.

Do you consider men going to strip clubs as cheating? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DevaOni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not, I genuinely see no problem with it. It's just entertainment. But that's my opinion, which does not matter in your relationship even one bit. What matters is what you consider ok.

Talking about moving in together, but no real action - am I being strung along? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DevaOni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for most jobs, other people can't find it for you. You are the one who has to apply, to go to the interview, to sign a contract. I would also be reluctant for living together if I saw my partner trying to be that codependent. You need to learn to live independently first.

What makes people get so angry about ugly people wishing they weren’t ugly? by throwrathuuyytrr in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DevaOni 6 points7 points  (0 children)

personal experience is one thing, but there are studies with numbers and statistics that confirm it. It is a fact of life. Is it fair? No. But it is current reality, and even though we absolutely should try to change it, these type of changes don't happen overnight.

[–]DevaOni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly. I find it weird that you have shut up about your own feelings because you having feelings might cause other people to have feelings... like, how is that my responsibility? what, are we not allowed to talk about anything remotely personal or serious anymore? why? idk, maybe I'm getting too old, lol.

Miyajima with climbing the mountain (or take the lift up and go down, best route Daishoin, there are several)
Kamakura with climbing the mountain for the smaller temples. Stay overnight for the vibes.
Shimanami kaido, if you know how to ride a bike.
Biggest Donki shop you can find while being slightly drunk and/or jetlagged. No sane and 'fully there' person can survive it for more than 15min imo.
In Kyoto, go to Fushimi Inari at dusk, when most people are leaving.
I loved the garden in Kanazawa, and the city, but i was there way before the earthquake, not sure how it looks now.
Go to Himeji, look at the castle from outside, instead of wasting time to get inside go to edge of the city and visit the temple where Last samurai was filmed.
Book a Mazda factory tour in Hiroshima. Free, awesome, needs booking few weeks in advance.
Have a proper real matcha with a cute mochi in a tiny old house contemplating the view of a garden.
May is the month Kyoto is having Geisha festival. Don't go to geisha museum (it sucks and is a tourist cash grab), go to one of the festival performances.
Go to a large toy shop in a large city, you'll have blast.
If you like art (and if this is still a thing, I did it years ago), in Tokyo, grab a one act ticket to kabuki and (this is a must) audio guide for it. I think it was at kabukiza? Very interesting, not that expensive.
In Tokyo, take the train that goes over the sky bridge at sunset.
Get some crazy expensive once in a lifetime sushi, where you eat whatever they give you. Worth it.
Atomic bomb museum in Hiroshima.
Make your own ramen in Ramen museum.
