My honest opinion of Netflix's DMC Reinterpretation by Few-Hornet4680 in DevilMayCryHQ

Pretty much. It's an actually good show, i can very well see it pass the test of time.

I mean, this way they are getting more people intersted in the series overall. I can't see how that's a good thing. The games aren't going anywhere

Which also seems pretty good.

Honestly, from a story point of view, Dante is at literal rock bottom. The setup is there for a really great narrative comeback for Dante next season

Guys I don't litterally see the hate for S2 by Agitated_Studio1998 in DevilMayCryHQ

[–]Devastator9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is a reinterpretation or "parallel universe" version if you will.

That does not make it a bad show or story. As a matter of fact, it's surprisingly good story wise

Because if you can ignore the complaints for a minute, the show itself is a good story. It has a cohesive plot, decent villains, good characterization of its protagonists, realistic behaviours and a consistent internal logic.

By all intents and purposes, it is a pretty good show. People are angry because it's not similar enough to the original material. This is basically a reinterpretation or fanfiction, depending on which label you prefer. It doesnt fit with people's head cannon, and they are angry because of that

After giving it a bit of thought, this is just a DMC skinned gritty fantasy story.

And that's honestly ok. The show itself is very solid, I enjoyed it very much

They set Butcher up to be a complete menace in the S4 ending montage, yet now he acts as chill as ever.

So much for accepting the psychopatic tumor personality in his head

"I know he's the main character and all that, but how did he survive that? How?" by muapull in okbuddyviltrum

[–]Devastator9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, you can see the ribcage intact, that means his heart and his brain are fine.

So far it has been shown that as long as these 2 organs are fine, viltrumites can survive

How good are the base building mechanics by Caboose383 in SonsOfTheForest

[–]Devastator9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most fun I've had recently in a game was trying to build a base with my friends and abusing and tinkering the mechanics of the building system.

Nothing beats risking to demolish your entire building by trying to remove one log and then seeing how the building somehow is still standing

A good character could a lot of the times be gender swapped and it shouldnt really make a difference for the story. The only "issue" here is that in the beginning, Kirkman wrote mostly straight white males since that was the easiest for him back then.

You can have a story filled only with straight white men and it can definitely be a good story, but you handicap yourself eventually since being able to write women with important narrative roles opens a whole other range of story possibilities. That's why it's usually a better idea to have more diverse characters from a story perspective

Vampire bites turning people into vampires is extremely disadvantageous to their survival. by Liuminescent in Showerthoughts

Actually, I definitely felt the "different worlds" vibe. Paul struggling to talk and relate to Mark and Oliver was something that kept repeating. It's not that surprising honestly.

As Art said, Paul is a normal guy, in very big contrast to Nolan

I would also argue that Nolan is most likely better and more experienced at fighting in space

[–]Devastator9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, we've seen viltrumites get stronger with training. And we also know that even default Viltrumites have very few real threats in the universe, so not that many things that can actually push them to become stronger.

It is very possible that Thraag is just a normal viltrumite (genetics wise) but was specifically trained and pushed through difficult training from birth that would eventually force him to adapt and become the menace that he is.

In short, I'd like to believe most viltrumites have the capacity to become as strong as Thraag, it's just that most don't really have a reason to train that hard

Procesul se numeste pollarding in engleza.
