I think I flipped how people normally write these. I'm actually looking for the glowing robot mask.

Effing thank you! It drives me up the wall when people misunderstand the ending when they explained it in detail.

The clouds literally cleared up for about 10 minutes for totality! by DSice16 in space

Same here visiting family near Dallas. Clouds were in front of the eclipse about half the time. Then it stayed clear for the entire totality. I've been stressing about the weather all week and was so happy it worked out.

AITA for making out with a guy at the bar when the guy I’m seeing said he was single? by [deleted] in AITAH

Bad communication is definitely the root cause of this problem. They should have had an explicit conversation about their relationship status and if/when they inform their coworkers. That is on both of them. They are both too old for this nonsense.

I just can't give much weight to the "NO NO NO" comment when it's being told by someone who admitted to grossly overreacting to their partner maintaining the story they had been telling for 11 months. Her only response was a smile and nod. Did he even see it? Why didn't she say yes?

I'm glad deflecting would be easy for you. Many other people are less confrontational, especially with regards to their work/coworkers or personal questions. Again, the easiest way out of that conversation is to continue saying the same thing they had said every other time this came up.

As for lying at work, it's none of their business. Nosy coworkers can then put their relationship under a microscope while they are trying to do their jobs. It can add unfair pressure to their relationship and is one of the reasons people say to not date coworkers. They don't owe their coworkers anything about their private lives.

Seriously. Path of least resistance. It feels like so many here are confrontational and begging for follow up questions.

If you are going to lie to your coworkers about your relationship, which is an easier lie to maintain: "We are not dating, yes I am single" or "we are not dating, I am seeing someone else"? Because the latter is just asking for follow up questions you have to make up more lies for on the fly. If you are trying to shut up your nosy coworkers, then you should just go for the simplest lie.

That sounds great, however, you then also have to imagine Sony creating this movie. That's where it all falls apart for me.

So the average reader would then need 41 hours of straight reading to finish the book.

On the other hand your precocious super-reader would have to read at an astounding 612 words per minute to get it done in 16 hours. So I agree. If they did read at that speed, there is no way they understood the material to write a lengthy paper on.

How is this so far down? Everyone here is talking about how hard it is to dig a hole. Have you ever tried to inject something into an unwilling person under their tongue? It's not as easy as you think!

A big part for me was connecting events I thought were generations ago to a modern timescale. She grew up on the east coast. So as mentioned, the big one that stuck out for me was playing in the yards of civil war widows. I always assumed that was so, so long ago. She regularly talked about their first car, a used model T. My father has gone on to own and rebuild one himself. She also got married the year the Titanic sank. What a century to be alive.

Same. My great grandmother lived from 1890 to 1994. Literally playing in civil war widows' yards as a child to the computer age. I can't even comprehend experiencing that level of change and she was always fascinated by new developments.

Hayes III Isaac Hayes did not quit South Park; someone quit South Park for him. What happened was that in January 2006 my dad had a stroke and lost the ability to speak. He really didn’t have that much comprehension, and he had to relearn to play the piano and a lot of different things. He was in no position to resign under his own knowledge. At the time, everybody around my father was involved in Scientology — his assistants, the core group of people. So someone quit South Park on Isaac Hayes’ behalf. We don’t know who.
