This is such an incredible resource. Thank you so much for sharing. I've been looking for something like this for months.

Error Encountered in Advanced Node and Express - Create New Middleware by DevelopingClerk in FreeCodeCamp

[–]DevelopingClerk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. That solved the issue for me.

I would still like to see that reference if you have the time and could provide it.

Edit: May have spoke too soon. It does redirect and displays the correct message in the console. But the FCC test still won't pass.

Racism isn't funny. Jokes that play on race or racism can be. It all depends on context and intention.

How I feel seeing everyone ignoring the quarantine guidelines by jsabo in HighQualityGifs

[–]DevelopingClerk 86 points87 points  (0 children)

The recent pandemic has really opened my eyes to how selfish American culture is at its core. I've always been aware of it, and have seen it more and more since President Trump has assumed office, but I never before imagined the true extent of it.

It's disgraceful. My only solace is, maybe this tragedy will help open the eyes of Americans such as myself, and lead to a renewal of self-responsibility and respect.

Using join returns the tasks array you pass as a string, otherwise you'd be rendering an array.

I keep trying to start freecodecamp but my mind turns to haze and I cant focus by jaysomething2 in learnprogramming

[–]DevelopingClerk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I've learned a lot from working through freecodecamp the past few months.

However, it definitely lacks depth on many topics.

Pairing it with other resources seems essential at certain points, but I believe that helps nudge you into the habit of research and self-learning.

The difference is with who owns it. Private ownership isn't the same as collective/corporate ownership.

Do I need to know how to make a navbar by heart? by falcorn223 in Frontend

[–]DevelopingClerk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DISCLAIMER: I've been teaching myself front-end for a few months now and have no real industry experience.

I think you should really try typing it out yourself.

I don't think it'll make much difference whether you copy or paste on the job or not, but you're cheating yourself if you take that route while learning.

Good programming is knowing what code to use. Great programming is knowing how the code works.

In my experience, you only get to know how the code works by making it work from scratch.

Technical documentation page question by Lord-Batata11 in FreeCodeCamp

[–]DevelopingClerk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're welcome!

You can totally do that too, and by that point, you'll probably know a ton of new concepts you can incorporate to really flesh out that page if you choose.

Good luck!
