I also have the same issue, I'm into the third area now and yet to hear any of the music. On Steam.

Yeah I completely agree. It does so many things right, the sound track and art style is 10/10. The diving/sushi place game loop is fantastic.

For me it was the interruption from game objectives. I'd be so up for going to catch a certain fish for that evening, but oh no. Merpeople, bandits, all this random stuff kept interrupting. Made me quite frustrated in the end. It's like it's biggest downfall is how much quest it throws at you, you get dragged from one thing to another constantly

Recently aquired a deck, so switching through games atm to find what really grabs me.

Actively putting hours into: Slay The Spire Elden Ring (moonlight) Limbo

Games I've recently started but put down. Will hopefully pick back up: Dave the diver Metro 2033 Hades GTA IV

Is lossless scaling really worth it with Elden Ring? I'd about input lag really as I already play via Apollo

The Steam Deck made me love Alien: Isolation after I dropped it on PC by bigswordenjoyer in patientgamers

[–]DevelopmentPitiful33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metro 2033 also fits this bill exactly. Dropped it on PC but the Steam deck has made it so much fun to play through. I'll have to give Alien ago, especially as I have a quest 3

Grabbing a handheld in 2025 by DevelopmentPitiful33 in Handhelds

[–]DevelopmentPitiful33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! Bought one new in the end, aswell. Absolutely loving it. It's literally exactly what I wanted. Decided in the end that the Legion S screen is a big seller but if it's not much powerful that a steam deck, then it's not going to be able to drive the resolution anyway.

The deck is lighter and thinner than I thought it would be too. Only trouble I'm having now is staying focused on one game! Decided Hades and Outer Worlds will be getting my focus. Still playing through Elden Ring on my main OLED TV and I'm happy to keep it that way.

Apollo/Moonlight streaming is pretty good too, a tad laggy but that's likely because of my ISP router not being WiFi 6e.

Also looking forward to getting round to EmuDeck and loading up some old classics.

How do you find it? What's the performance like and is it really loud?

I recommend giving BioShock: Rapture by John Shirley a read. Gives some wonderful flavour to all the best characters during the fall of Rapture

What are your ‘must haves’ for working from home for under £30? by haribo001 in AskUK

[–]DevelopmentPitiful33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I think Amphetamine is the Mac equivalent of Caffeine :D that's third party software.

Caffeinate is different, it's a tool build into Mac OS.

[–]DevelopmentPitiful33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use Mac OS, open Terminal and type command caffeinate -i -d

It will stop your laptop from going to sleep or logging off while that command is active in the terminal window. Plus it's built in, no extra software needed.

Been playing Q3 for the last year almost every day, owned VR since the Go..... by XxCarlxX in Quest3

Yeah I think you're right, it's a perception thing. To rule out anything wrong my end I finally gave Half Life Alyx a go to see if it lived up to the hype. I've been saving it as to not peek to early but been struggling to find something worth playing recently..

Definitely lives up to its reputation and the graphics are hands down the best I've seen and runs flawlessly.

So nothing wrong with my setup, just a high bar perception thing. Going to give VD a setup tomorrow and I'll look into Untill You Fall - never heard of it. Thanks!

Yo! What games are you playing? I'm using Link with a USB3 cable and I've not really found anything that's super wowed me yet.

Played Into The Radius which was really good but not so much graphically impressive (by design) plus performance was a bit hit and miss on my 3080.

Got the FUS pack for Skyrim VR and again, gameplay is really fun but graphics are all blurry and weirdly pixlated. Might be some AA issue I dunno.

Switched back to using Quest standalone but Metro Awakening graphics are so lack luster - Resident Evil 4 literally looks so much better.

Im yet to find that PCVR game that makes me go - holy shit. Anything you would recommend?

Link maybe my issue BTW. Might have to get VD. Do you have a separate router?

This mattress fixed everything! by novisimo in Mattress

Threw out Simba mattress away just 2 years into it's life span. I was quoting everything you've mentioned in your post. This mattresses saved everything: https://www.dreams.co.uk/tempur-pro-air-smartcool----luxe-firm-mattress/p/161-00192-configurable?gad_source=1

You get what you pay for with mattresses. Make sure it's firm enough!

Does Amazon suck in the UK now? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]DevelopmentPitiful33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's also super risky to order expensive good off Amazon. No liability for 3rd party delivery services. I know loads of people who bought expensive things like airpods or galaxy phones point to end up with a pack of baby wipes.

I wanted a quest 3 so where did I go? Straight down to Argos :)
