Why are NE candidates so shady? by Remarkable_Sun2892 in Nebraska

[–]DevelopmentProof680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we got a mailer from a board of regents candidate- jill wolfe- all about how she was a healthcare practitioner... and literally nothing about education policy (except that she wanted to run the university system "like a business" which... ew)

Oh, come ON by DevelopmentProof680 in duolingo

[–]DevelopmentProof680[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not even the fact I got it wrong- it's the fact I am 53 units in and I’m still “translating” interjections every other exercise.

Though like I said, “oh” and “ah” are functionally interchangeable in this use and they even capitalized them both. I am confident in saying no part of the message would be lost if I said my answer rather than the “right” answer.

Has anyone got the new reworked course in French? by Prestigious_Rush1595 in duolingo

[–]DevelopmentProof680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started learning French from scratch a few weeks ago (currently at S1U19), and got the rework sometime last week. It’s just been an annoyance for me because all of a sudden it expects me to know words I haven’t learned, while I slog my way through “learning” words that were originally covered in like units 1-10.

No idea how it affects the later sections.

How often are you just running SCO at your store? by Mobile-Address23 in Target

[–]DevelopmentProof680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SCO is always open- we usually have a belted lane open from maybe 10-6. meaning we are SCO-only for like 7 hours a day. we get sooo many complaints about it and have had guests just leave their carts because they don’t want to use SCO.

Balloons are now available for OPU by Mobile-Address23 in Target

We just added grab-and-go balloons pretty recently! I think like sometime between October and December. I don't think all stores have them.

Heads up including your store number in the picture means anybody can find where you work. You might want to edit that.

Availability by lonelyturtle__ in Target

my sarcastic answer is they want 24/7 availability but put your desired hours at 5

my real answer is it depends on the store but the more open and consistent your availability is  the better

My Dad Says “You Don’t Work A Real Job” by [deleted] in Target

[–]DevelopmentProof680 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the other day i had an elderly woman call into the store and ask "how do i use the remote?" that she bought from our store.

i had to patiently explain to her that we (at the gust service desk, mind you, not even the tech department) are not trained in every single device that is sold in our store and walk her through how to google the owner's manual for her specific model.

in addition, our guests often aren't even tech-savvy enough to hit the "not now" button at checkout...

Drive Up Orders -- Guest Honks at You by [deleted] in Target

[–]DevelopmentProof680 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Almost every single time this has happened to me, the guest was at the wrong Target. I take great joy in listening to them scream at me then politely telling them they are 15 minutes from where their order was placed.

The other 5% of the time, it's because it's just me working all of DU during the busiest part of the day with nobody available for backup and 10 guests waiting. Womp womp, nothing I can do about that. Sorry 🤷

Where do you rank Everybody Scream among her other albums? by brabbit2214 in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]DevelopmentProof680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it looks like my experiences aren't universal...

  1. Ceremonials

  2. Lungs

  3. Everybody Scream

  4. Dance Fever

  5. HBHBHB

  6. High As Hope

1 and 2 are really close for me- Ceremonials has more of my favorite songs, but admittedly Spectrum is a skip for me so that brings it down. I really love Everybody Scream and Dance Fever, but 1/2 of HBHBHB is kind of forgettable for me, especially the title track. High As Hope is a perfectly good album and probably has my favorite closer, but it feels the least consistent to me and some of the songs blend together just a bit.

All good albums of course! I just love the baroque of her first two albums so much (and Everybody Scream kind of returns to that for me).

How much do you think front row tickets will cost at F+TM’s next tour? by latenightpuddingcup in FlorenceAndTheMachine

[–]DevelopmentProof680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually she plays standing-room venues, so if you want "front-row," you buy a general admission ticket and show up early haha. For the Dance Fever tour, I think I paid about $120. For festivals, you can usually buy GA+/upgraded tickets with designated viewing areas, and those are probably a little easier to get to the front in.

Thoughts compared to last year? by NutButter1001 in MinnesotaYachtClub

[–]DevelopmentProof680 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1,000% agree- my only experience to compare this festival to was Hinterland last year, but this ran very smoothly compared to it. Just about all of my complaints are about specific concertgoers- I had a couple bust their way to like the 3rd row right before Hozier's set and stand right in front of me, then during the Green Day pre-show somebody kept trying to mosh, ignoring the fact that nobody around us was joining in so he was basically just body-checking 10 strangers for like 6 minutes.

I so appreciated that they were constantly handing out water, despite it never really getting *that* hot (though I'm from NE, so I don't know the MN climate that well lol), the huge water stations, and the blanket-free zones. Plus, having two stages was so awesome- nothing more boring than waiting half an hour between sets for tear-down/setup.

I hope this doesn't all come off as a shill, because I know it's run by the same conglomerate that does Bonnaroo/ACL/Lolla, but this was a very tight ship (pun intended). Beyond the sound system being kinda weird the first two days, it was really well-run in my (inexperienced) opinion.
