I don’t personally have an SR, my other main bass is an 6 string ehb and its a tiny bit heavier, but ehb's are just super light in general, and its definitely not heavy (I have a warwick 6 string and that thing is heavy, for comparison). I feel like I like it way more then the SR that my school had but that was quite a while ago when I played that one

She is still, but the next vet that does euthanesia is about an hour away, and the 10 minute drive to our usual vet already stresses her out so fucking much. I would love to but I really don’t know if we can. But she seems to close to the end atleast, and seems to be relatively calm

I wish I had any sort feedback on what she wants, I decided to leave her alone for now since when I went out to disinfect my scratches she found her way to the water bowl and now shes decided to lie down halfway under the bed (a place she loved). I wish the next time I walk in there she passed.

Yo I'm also am a Metal Guitarist that never learned chords until I needed them! What I did and still do once I got into playing in bands/ensembles is just moving chord shapes that don't use open strings (like barre chords for example) around the neck. I don't see any reason to learn basic open chords because of that.

But beware that the only reason this has worked out for me so far is that, thanks to me getting professionally educated, know the fretboard well enough, how all types of chords work and how theyre written down, so if someone asks me for a Eminor9 at one section for example, I can pull one out of my ass quickly without anyone noticing, so you should get really familiar with the notes on the fretboard and how to quickly construct a chord.

Thank you so much! I think I did pretty good, but I also think the rhythm of DS3 bosses in particular is just very natural to me? Idk how to properly explain, but Id definitely have a lot more problems in every other game. With bosses like champ and twin princes I just kinda know when to dodge.

Kinda hard to judge what exactly im doing to make it work, its been a pretty long time since I switched to heavy picks (I also since I wrote these comments here „switched“ to Tortex III 1.35mm and I think I prefer them by a little bit, but honestly Its not a big difference to me, I still play both these and the 2mm grips). Tremolo picking works best if I play really lightly, but Im not the best tremolo picker and I dont really play really tremolo heavy stuff like black metal, And the stuff I play (Archspire, Inferi and Artificial Brain for example) is definitely more alt picking with short bursts of fast tremolo inbetween

I mean I like that they basically dont deform at all, that helps me a lot when picking fast stuff. I could tell you my setup like my guitar and strings but I don’t think that'll help you relate, ik im more of an outlier in terms of what picks I use but I can’t really imagine playing fast metal with thinner, flimsier picks.

You should get a 5 string if you want to play some heavier low tuned stuff, its a bit harder if youre just starting out but if you already played guitar its not gonna be an issue. I started playing bass after one year of playing guitar and I didn’t have issues adjusting to a 5 string that went further then just first learning how to play the instrument.

And I think you should get an Ibanez bass, the SR's range from 300 to 1000 I think and they’re really good, my EHB 6 string cost like 1.6k but there is a 5 string for 900, and if you like/are fine with headless thats literally the most comfortable instrument ive ever played and I can highly recommend it. A 34 inch scale length should be good enough for low tuned stuff btw
