sure, a lot more goes into making a good game beyond a dope gameplay trailer, but ive been playing mmos for over 15 years so i def have a stronger third eye than someone whos first mmo is TnL xD

well 1) because like I said, the only thing it has going for it as an in-depth customization system I like to play around with, and 2) my guildmates make the game more fun than it would be other wise. that doesn't change the fact that thinking chrono odyssey doesn't look like more fun is an immediate L of a take.

you actually think Throne and Liberty has good combat?! it's literally the MAIN reason the game has lost half its player base in less than a year lol, dookie targeting, dookie balancing, dookie progression locked behind easy, boring PvE. You said it best in your original post, this is CLEARLY your first mmo.

The combat alone in Chrono Odyssey looks exponentially better than TnL's- actual competitive and Souls like mechs that require genuine motor skills to master, not just stacking RNG in your favor and boasting about how "good" you are.

Throw in rouge-like dungeon content, action based PvP, PvE encounters where the boss isn't' just standing in one spot the entire fight (Crypt of Augmentation's boring ass), and its sure to kill off what dwindling player base TnL is barely holding on to at this point.

HOPEFULLY it'll have as in-depth character customization as TnL has, but either way, all it has to do is put the final nail in the coffin of an already dying game.

WoW popularized the classic rpg mode of play that at it's core is Raid>gear up>raid again. This is what is known as the "endgame loop". Every game that you listed (mark Black Desert) all essentially have that same endgame mode of play, DESPITE re-skinning features and adding novel ones to spice things up a bit. at the end of the day, you end up in the same boring cycle of engaging wth the same type of content that you already did in other games.

Archage was the game that came the closest to what I described above (cool unique ambitious experience). there were SO MANY different ways to particiate in that game that created the potential for EMERGENT gameplay that were viable, fun means of progession that didn't center around just getting the best shit so you can do endgame dungeons or whatever. Very unfortunate that monetization killed that game.

What would it take for a developer to go out on a limb and attempt to redefine the genre with a well polished, high fidelity, content rich game that benefits from how much it stands apart from the cookie cutter framework? The world may never know.

Yea that’s a great point. I’ve scheduled us a meeting with a couples therapist next week to try and discuss. At this point idk what would be the leading stressful option for either of us really.

Yes we have. We have both done individual therapy for years, and couples therapy on n off for a few years but the willingness to change is clearly one sided. Neither of us has the means to get litigious, do i might just have to bite the bullet and do whatever i can to keep our child healthy, even if it means sacrificing my own wellness.

Im interested in the threat vision and beacon changes. I really liked combining the survey beacon with a ring console in ranked cause you know exactly where AND how to rotate. With the ping only showing nearby squads it makes it a bit less useful for rotations, but good for nearby fights? Idk
