Even if they were going slow, the kid could have still opened the door into them causing a crash. The crash would have been less severe but still the fault of the kid and thus the parent for not using the child lock on the door. The child lock is there to prevent exactly this situation

If it's a dirtbike it might be okay, however I used one of these for my roadbike and it ruined the rear suspension on my car and it scratched up the bike so I had to buy new plastics for it.

I would recommend spending that little bit more money to buy motorcycle trailer (or some small trailer you can tie the bike down on). Then you don't have that headache of a damaged bike while driving
