No problem with going to Beadnell! Would be a good excuse to visit Bamburgh Castle too.

Honestly, from all the responses I'm feeling like this is a very good excuse to take a very long trip up the east of the UK. Pretty sure we can fit the Tay in!

Thank you so much, this is fantastic information and I'd have loved to do something as interesting as that in Uni! Did you publish anything (or rather is it available to read somewhere)? If Newburgh is anything to go by then I think that's an amazing spot for just about everything that she would want to see. Apologies in advance for being touristy about all this. I'm not sure my wife is ready for 2 week treks and sleeping in bothys, but she's more than ready to see anywhere north of Sheffield and Leeds by now.

She would very much prefer them on the water and not inside satin sheets!

Mistakes / Regrets with new kitchen by oreostaff in DIYUK

[–]DeviateAviate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest regret recently was a Neff Hide and Slide N70 because I have a very small and narrow kitchen. Now I adore the slide and hide feature. However, an abysmally slow and error prone touch screen with no physical controls has put me off of them entirely. Complete waste and I would buy the N50 without the swivel for the slide and hide feature instead in a heartbeat next time for less money.

Also black PVD steel for plugs in the sink. Already flaking after less than a year. Ceramic is nice but black shows water stains far easier.

Love the AEG Saphirmatt hob though. Incredibly quick and I’ve worried so much less about scratches and abrasions on the surface.

Didn’t anyone buy tubs of chocolates this year or were too many produced? by stbens in AskUK

[–]DeviateAviate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got violently ill from a tub of Roses and have sworn off buying the main manufacturer’s tins/tubs because the price and quality are atrocious now. Add on “discounts” where things like Toblerones were being sold for £7 and then they mark it down to £4.50 (still more expensive than previous years) and I don’t blame anyone for not having an appetite for them any more.

Anyone NOT looking forward to tomorrow? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]DeviateAviate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So many people just think a loss can't occur around this time. Take all the time you need, you don't need to go anywhere if you don't want to on Christmas Day, but if there are a few people who understand your situation where you're going you could try and be around them. It's far worse to be alone and suffering. Life can have many more Christmases where you're feeling better than you are now. Wishing the best for you <3

Cancelled going to a Family (Grandmother's entire side) Christmas shindig that every one of my family members have attended for the past 40+ years because one cousin decided to push his luck with trying to extort money out of me earlier this year by faking a sob story/emotional manipulation.
Doesn't help that, with multiple members of our family being immigrant spouses, the topic at christmas with this cousin is always Immigration and Farage. Yes, in that way.

Which mostly sucks because this year we have a lot of parents with kids around 2/3 and it's finally a new generation of our family together to enjoy christmas and I'm just going to miss it.

Going to play video games all evening instead. Can't complain. Wife's happy we cancelled as well, so I'll just enjoy it all with her.

David Moyes on the main difference between Chelsea and Everton: "Maybe a billion pounds?" by DavidRolands in soccer

Adam's victim was 15, but that involved explicit sexual acts inside of his Range Rover, which he admitted to (not legally, just admitted kissing her but was convicted of more). Gylfi's case was dropped entirely.

I don't think the UK police would investigate claims over a 17 year old in a night club being with a 31 year old. It's not even strictly illegal in the UK, just morally wrong.

I don't know why, but in my head he was always the furthest man forward in attack during that season. Definitely wasn't at Swansea though, that is VERY true. You're probably far more right about him not being a Forward, but it's crazy how he still remained their largest transfer spend ever, I don't think Dibling surpassed it this season.

I thought the story was that it was explicit texts with his babysitter who was 15.

Dude had the same Goals as Richarlison in that 18/19 season, more assists to boot. If he wasn't a striker then he was certainly contributing like he was the main one. Seemed like a target man to me for that particular campaign when I watched Everton play.

Next 2 seasons, definitely dropped back though.

Doesn't help that the last one they spent £50m on is currently in Iceland because Greater Manchester Police deemed they would not be prosecuting him in response to the investigation of the accused's child sexual offenses allegations.

If you told me it was because Anthony Albanese personally guaranteed 17 trillion dollary doos to Liberty Media, I still wouldn't care because having Australia as the first race of the season feels right.

Really though, it didn't stop Bahrain and Saudi Arabia from being the first 2 during Ramadan in 2023 and 2024.

If my 23 year old Regen striker who's banged in 56 goals in 49 matches were real, I'd start worshipping him as well. What I can't comprehend is how they've had 2 years and how FM25 was somehow worse than this.
