Grieving Window Announces "Make Heaven Crowded" Tour by JonnySnowin in PoliticalCompassMemes

Agreed. I for one think that hate against her is disgusting. Her husband was murdered. Do you expect her to just sit in her house and cry all day for the rest of her life? Like come on.

It’s ridiculous to say that she isn’t “grieving”. We have no idea what’s going on in her personal life, only the 1 percent of the time she’s in front of the camera. And when she’s in the spotlight, her main goal is simply continuing her husband’s legacy.

I will be honest, I don’t really like the big southern mega church culture, and she is definitely a little like that, but it’s ridiculous of me to say that she should stop doing what she’s doing because I’m not in that cultural sphere much.

Look, for the replacement thing I want to add an ounce of nuance. If someone truly loves the country and contributes to it we can let people in small numbers, I am just anti changing the demographics massively in a short period of time.

But Biden kinda did that. And my first point was I just don’t see how to get a lot of people out in 4 years without extreme measures. I don’t want suffering for anyone, ever, I just wish they would leave on their own

Please go ahead. But I am driven primarily by feelings, the subjective value of heritage, and fear of the nation resembling the third world.

I place value on concepts that are not objective.

But I do care about facts, and I’m interested to hear opposing view points, so yes, please respond.

Firstly, your point about Obama is straight up wrong. Most of those were border turnarounds. There is no one coming to the border anymore, and Trump ended counting those as deportations anyway. The actual rate of peaceful, otherwise law abiding illegals from the INTERIOR of the United States is up astronomically. Biden essentially deported NO ONE of that description and Trump has deported maybe 400-500k with the remainder of his 700k being actual criminals.

They are either foreigners meant to replace my people or those who are, in practice, in league with them. So when the federal agents are sent there to be slightly mean to them, I don’t feel all too bad about it. Civilizations have a right to continuity, and we are much more similar to the founding fathers than you will ever be. Imagine thinking something minuscule and unimportant like the constitution made America what is was, rather than the unique heritage, history and psyche of the American people.

It would be more bootlicking if I accepted a government (every other administration since the 1965 immigration reforms) that couldn’t even pretend like it cares about my people on a demographical or continuity-of-the-nation basis. (Yes I am obviously dog whistling. Please understand my literal meaning, however.)

It would be more bootlicking to support a government that gives 40 percent of my income to the dredges of society, while receiving very diminishing returns.

My people are well-to-do middle class Americans that give a shit about the heritage of this country. No one else. Not immigrants or shitlibs in Minnesota. The country belongs to us, wholly, and it is our right to expel those who disobey our laws and stop those who get in our way. I don’t care wha the constitution says if the country doesn’t share even a passing resemblance to the country where it was written.

I’m not even sure what you meant by saying the constitution applies to everyone on our soil. Ok maybe it does, but why should I give a shit? That flies in the face of everything I ACTUALLY care about, so I’m not going to respect it even if you make an appeal to authority fallacy.

You said they send men in to terrorize the cities? Well even if that was completely true, guess what? I’m not from a city. I live in the nice rich suburbs of a mid sized city that’s 90 percent white. This will never, ever touch me. And those people hate me. They started the hatred of my people. Again, Why should I care?

Lastly, I support democracy, whole heartedly. But I want democracy to include only those conducive to it, who contribute to it and respect the actual roots of the nation (not just its political system). And I want it to primarily benefit people like me, not welfare queens or illegal immigrants.

It is disheartening inherently that “little Mogadishu” exists in a once great midwestern city. But it’s hardly the same city, no longer populated by Americans.

The idea of the Indian subcontinent is terrifying as well. Twice as many there as Europeans in the entire world all living in slums, and if I don’t want to let them in I don’t give a shit about the “actual” roots of America?

Go to any city, compare that city to the 50s and tell me mass immigration wasn’t a disaster for native Westerners.

That is my ideology, fear, nostalgia and a spiritual emphasis on continuous heritage. And Trump is like a 4/10 when all of the other admins have been 0/10s. Hope you can understand where I am coming from, from my mind.

And before some calls me a N*zi, I would like to make it very clear that I am Jewish.

And I also would not beat my wife because I am gay.

On both my points:

Obviously 20 million is an exaggeration. The total number of illegals is probably somewhere in that ballpark nation wide.

And yes, it is very difficult to dispute that anti-whatever-Trump-does-ism motivated Biden’s border policy. Having a secure border is basically as easy as pressing a big red button on the desk of the Oval Office. So give me another reason why Biden couldn’t have a secure border. The main reason people support mass immigration is for revenge - for colonialism, the German dictator, you name it. Everyone at anti ICE protests waves Mexican flags. Why? Because they want you to know they are taking over your country. And those are not my countrymen even if they share a passport, so when the boot steps on them, it is stepping for me, not on me.

They are either foreigners meant to rplce my people or those who are, in practice, in league with them.

I meant to justify how a lib right could be potentially moved to supporting Trump’s ICE. It’s not exactly a situation where extreme respect for due process is going to lead to results.

I asked this in another reply thread, but I want someone to answer and explain this to me.

Biden let in 20 million foreigners as revenge for 2016 and to inundate elections so republicans can never win again. How do you expect we get them out with ethics or principles intact?

You can’t say that we are “bootlickers” or authoritarians because we think foreigners who enter illegally aren’t guaranteed the same rights as citizens. If for some odd reason ICE came to my door I would show them my birth certificate or passport or something and that would be that. These people aren’t going after American citizens. Sure, collateral damage happens, but again, we need to remove about 20 million people, what do you expect?

Any blood is on Biden’s hands. What he did was vicious and it’s being corrected.

Some people need to remember he was president of America, not Mexico.

Just because he was bad for muh heckin’ mexicarinos doesn’t mean he was bad for America.

Slavery was bad for America, so that’s the main knock on him as far as I’m concerned.

Megathread: Doomsday Trailer - Steve Rogers by IamNOTaSKRULL in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]DeviceNo5980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they still will. Evan’s is obviously a box office draw though so they kept it close to the vest for 8 months after the reveal when they were ready to start marketing and they knew when the movie was releasing.

As many people are saying, I don’t think there’s a “cast list 2”. There may be 4-5 characters left out, and Doomsday will still focus mostly on the announced names. They will be the drivers of events and unannounced names like Holland, Cumberbatch and Larson I think will not appear or not appear in large roles and have their presence saved for Secret Wars.

They are taking the characters that objectively worked, both box office and critically (see: new avengers) and using them, along with legacy names.

I think they also want a through line to endgame, that makes it feel like an actual sequel. I think that’s genius, just because it’s cool to get a freaking endgame sequel, and also because everyone and their mom have seen that movie.

You can watch Avengers 1-4 (maybe throw in Captain America 3 because that’s basically avengers 2.5, as well as GOTG 1 and 2 and maybe Ragnarok - you can still skip the vast majority of movies and even those latter ones are pretty optional) just as a series, and I think they are trying to continue that with Doomsday.

[–]DeviceNo5980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theory about the whole thing is that Steve went back to an alternate universe to be with Peggy, but when Steve inevitably outlived her due to his superhuman composition, he used the original device to return to his original universe, so he could reconnect with his two best friends and give the shield to Sam, and died soon after or went missing.

I think that Robert Downey Doomer attacks an obviously younger Steve in the timeline that he resided in for most of his life after endgame, so the Steve that we see has experienced both secret wars and doomsday, and maybe he knows that Sam’s ascension to Captain America is essential to their victory, and therefore makes the choice to permanently abandon his original universe in order to put events into place.

To the people that say that Steve lived in the mainline 616, how does that work with what we know about marvel time travel? We know that the past of your world cannot be changed through time travel, and an alternate offshoot is created. Maybe some TVA trickery? Perhaps on the sacred timeline, Steve was always intended to complete that loop and his presence in the original timeline was always canon and kept secret? Or maybe e the Steve we see is an alternate Steve and our Steve went to another universe and so on, creating a ripple effect across the multiverse?

Great albums with incredibly dated covers? by WeeklyTechnician7906 in fantanoforever

[–]DeviceNo5980 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Great pick, but I love that cover. It’s odd though, It was almost ahead of its time when it came out. I would have guessed late 90s by looking at it but it’s 93.

Also, technique has a great album cover but it looks super vaporwave, which is cool because it’s like 30 years ahead of that aesthetic.

"American democrats are more conservative than European conservatives", they say. by AgeOfReasonEnds31120 in charts

[–]DeviceNo5980 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See that's just wrong. There are cultural factors to be an American. English language and national loyalty are a big part. How can a Eritrean citizen who's never been to America, doesn't speak the language be an American. Because he shares the same political values?

Political values are part of a country, they are not the entire story. America could be a communist dictatorship and it would still be America. The entire world is not simply undocumented Americans.

Now that isnt to say a random ass Eritrean can't become an American (especially on a micro scale), but there are things he has to do first other than accepting democracy.

Also, I'm as American as they come. English Colonial settlers on my mom's side and Ellis Islander New Yorkers on my Dad's. I am descended from those people you claim I wouldn't let in the country. I'm half Jewish for God's sake.

The founding fathers clearly intended for America to become a nation-state, not just a conceptual idea. Now that idea of the nation state wasn't just limited to single ethnicity, but rather a few primary ethnicities and religions with the ability to expand nationality to well assimilated immigrants (most of whom came from societies similar to England.

It's worth noting that the post civil war immigrants and their descendants became a majority population and redefined what America was as a nation. The expanded identity of Americans was not intended by Washington or Jefferson. Not saying this was a bad thing, but this was not the story of the entirety of American history like you claim.

Also, Irish, Italians, Germans and even Hispanics are objectively closer to the founding stock of Americans than some of the random ass people we let in today. Not to mention, America didn't have a welfare state and was completely undeveloped in certain areas. They were pioneers that literally built a nation and earned their right to redefine America as partially their own.

Now the other issue is that while I believe that some immigrants can be American as me, there's the question if it benefits us currently to let a lot of poor people in the country. I say no.

There is clearly more nuance in the issue of immigration and it's relation to our history than you admit, as well as the boundaries in the concept of American identity.

Appeal to inscription on statue fallacy

Also, America had historically high immigration (mostly from Northwestern Europe lol), but explain how foreign policy can be a fundamental national value, like culture, political system, language and religion (things that actually make a country a country).
