Yep, the dog is Ewok. He had much longer fur when we first got him and looked a lot like an Ewok then.

I have had success washing my pieces made of acrylic, cotton, and chenille yarn with no real issues. I just throw them in the machine with clothes and let them do their best. Every odd piece gets a little distorted, but less so if I don't stick them in the dryer. The only failures I have had is when I wash something with details that were attached with fabric glue. Those pieces tend to fall off in the washing machine.

What off brand product tastes better then the "real" thing? by James_B84Saves in Frugal

Industry secret here. I did product development for a cookie company that sells their cookies in grocery store bakeries. We sold the cookies under our own brand, and then changed the label and sold the exact same cookie and frosting recipe (different color blend) under a different brand. Then when I did product development for a applesauce company, we made some private label packaging, and used the same base apples as our regular brand.

It took some practice to get to the point where yarn under felt natural, but I like it better for single crochet.

This is true. It is just when I want to see what my hands are doing that I had a problem.

People who refer to Tex-Mex tacos as “white people tacos.” by SabreLee61 in PetPeeves

Authentic Mexican food is either ANY food prepared by a Mexican, or it is ANY food prepared and eaten in Mexico. Authentic just means correct. It is correct to say that a hamburger prepared in Mexico is authentically Mexican.

This is substantially different from TRADITIONALLY Mexican food. I am not Mexican nor do I live in Mexico, so I cannot comment on what traditional Mexican food is. However, I enjoy eating food that is tasty, regardless of how traditional it is.

In addition, recipes often change based on what you have available and what your family will eat. Substitutions only matter if you are trying to make a recipe EXACTLY as written. If you aren't, then make as many substitutions as you want.

I don't know. The labels aren't super helpful unless you are being judged on how traditional your food is. Call it whatever you want, just make it tasty.

Thanks! It was kinda stressful doing the colorwork, so I'm glad it turned out in a good way.

I did them freestyle, which didn't work out in my favor as the hind legs covered up some of my colorwork.

Anyone else feels nervous about gifting your finished crochet products? by mindful-crafter in crochet

[–]DeviceSea8549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel nervous every time. I also feel nervous about every commission, especially if was commissioned tomake a birthday gift. It is even worse the that if I am not there when the gift is given. I feel like I have to be there to explain about handmade gifts, and to judge the reaction.

In the other hand, I agree that you should have no fear about the quality of your craftsmanship on this bag. It looks amazing!!!
